Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) is a key driver for liver fibrogenesis. TGF-β must be activated in order to function. Plasma kallikrein (PLK) is a TGF-β activator that cleaves the latency-associated protein (LAP) between arginine58 and lysine59 ...

Genetic Differentiation in the SdhC Subunit Confers Intrinsic Resistance to SDHI Fungicides in Fusarium asiaticum. [PDF]
In Fusarium asiaticum, two homologous SdhC subunits (FaSdhC1/C2) regulate sensitivity to SDHI fungicides: deletion of FaSDHC1 decreases sensitivity, while deletion of FaSDHC2 increases it. Multiple mutations in ΔFaSDHC2 confer resistance to SDHI fungicides.

Testosterone modulates multispectral oscillatory activity serving performance of motor sequences in typically developing youth. [PDF]
Abstract figure legend Increases in testosterone are associated with developmental changes in motor‐related neural oscillations in youth. Abstract Motor control is critical to daily functioning and undergoes significant refinement throughout youth. Although the effects of age on the underlying brain circuitry have been well characterized, fewer studies

AcrVA3 Is a Double Strand DNA-Cleaving Anti-CRISPR That Indirectly Inhibits Cas12. [PDF]
This study reports the high‐resolution structure of the anti‐CRISPR protein AcrVA3 and reveals its unexpected inhibitory mechanism against Cas12. AcrVA3 does not directly interact with Cas12 but instead exhibits double‐stranded DNA cleavage activity.

Intravascular Lithotripsy Is Associated With Superior Clinical Outcomes Compared to Atherectomy: A Large-Scale, Propensity-Matched Analysis. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Background Coronary artery disease (CAD) with severe calcification remains a growing challenge in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Atherectomy (ATH) has long been used for plaque modification, whereas intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) has emerged as a promising alternative. Large‐scale comparative data on long‐term outcomes are limited.

Clinical and Genetic Landscape of Glioblastoma, IDH-Wildtype With FGFR Gene Family Alterations. [PDF]
We analyzed 1076 cases of glioblastoma, IDH‐wildtype (GBM, IDH‐wt) using the C‐CAT genomic database to clarify the clinical and genetic features of FGFR alterations. FGFR::TACC fusions and FGFR1 mutations were identified in distinct subsets and were associated with unique co‐mutation patterns.
