Adhesive factor/rabbit 2, a new fimbrial adhesin and a virulence factor from Escherichia coli O103, a serogroup enteropathogenic for rabbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli-like E. coli strains belonging to serovar O103:K-:H2 and rhamnose-negative biotypes are highly pathogenic diarrhea-inducing strains for weaned European rabbits.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Metabolic processes and reproductive ability of male rabbits under the action of heat stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The aim of the work was to study the metabolic processes and reproductive capacity in male rabbits under conditions of heat stress and the action of a complex nanosomal preparation.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Influence of light-exposure during late incubation and early feeding on the performance of layer chicks in a multitasking test and step detour test

open access: yesPoultry Science
During on-farm hatching, chicken embryos experience continuous light during late incubation, and have immediate access to feed and water post-hatch. While on-farm hatching compared to hatchery-hatching improves several welfare indicators in broilers, the

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Aspects of olfaction, social behaviour and ecology of an island population of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Olfactory behaviour in the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) has been studied extensively under laboratory and semi-natural conditions. Results of observations on aspects of the olfactory behaviour of a free-living population of rabbits are ...

Genome-wide association study of durations in zones of an aviary for laying hens

open access: yesPoultry Science
Identifying how birds interact with their environment and selecting birds that are more suitable for specific housing systems could be beneficial for commercial egg production.

Histogical structure of the thyroid gland in rabbits with different types of autonomous tonus

open access: yesНауковий вісник Львівського національного університету ветеринарної медицини та біотехнологій імені С.З. Ґжицького: Серія Ветеринарні науки, 2020
The research was aimed at investigating the influence of the aggregated tonus of sympathetic and parasympathetic centers on the rabbit’s thyroid gland morphology.
