Association between regular arrangement of collecting venules and Helicobacter pylori status in routine endoscopy

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology, 2021
Background The sensitivity of regular arrangement of collecting venules (RAC)-positive pattern for predicting Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-negative status greatly altered from 93.8 to 48.0% in recent two decades of various studies, while the reason ...

Effect of community-based distribution of misoprostol on facility delivery: a scoping review

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2019
Introduction Community distribution of misoprostol to pregnant women in advance of labor is one of the compelling strategies for preventing postpartum hemorrhage. Concerns have been reported that misoprostol distribution could reduce facility delivery or

Rhythmic auditory cueing in atypical parkinsonism: A pilot study

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2022
Rhythmic auditory cueing (RAC) can improve gait parameters in neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and stroke. However, there is a lack of research on the effects of RAC in patients with atypical parkinsonian disorders (APD).

Interplay of PKA and Rac [PDF]

open access: yesSmall GTPases, 2013
Cellular membrane receptors sense environmental changes and relay the reshaped signal through spatially and temporally organized protein-protein interactions (PPI). Many of such PPI are transient and occur in a certain cell-dependent context. Molecular switches such as kinases and GTPases are engaged in versatile PPI.

rac-2,3-Dibromopropionamide [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2013
The racemic title compound, C3H5Br2NO, was crystallized from methanol. In the crystal, adjacent molecules are linked through N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along thec-axis direction. These chains are linked through N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming an undulating two-dimensional network lying parallel to thebcplane.

Cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion in survival and metastasis: Stat3 versus Akt

open access: yesBiomolecular Concepts, 2015
Both cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion are important for epithelial cell differentiation and function. Classical cadherins mediate cell to cell interactions and are potent activators of the signal transducer and activator of transcription (Stat3 ...

Rac-GEF/Rac Signaling and Metastatic Dissemination in Lung Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2020
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) representing ∼85% of new diagnoses. The disease is often detected in an advanced metastatic stage, with poor prognosis and clinical outcome. In order to escape from the primary tumor, cancer cells acquire highly motile and invasive phenotypes ...

RAC drawings in subcubic area [PDF]

open access: yesInformation Processing Letters, 2020
In this paper, we study tradeoffs between curve complexity and area of Right Angle Crossing drawings (RAC drawings), which is a challenging theoretical problem in graph drawing. Given a graph with $n$ vertices and $m$ edges, we provide a RAC drawing algorithm with curve complexity $6$ and area $O(n^{2.75})$, which takes time $O(n+m)$.
