Problems involving combined loading [PDF]

open access: yes
The first problem was to determine the capability of a ground support equipment (GSE) rack knee bracket for handling a spacelab rack. The geometric center of gravity was calculated for the upper and lower part of the rack and found to be in the center of

Racks and blocked braids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the paper Blocked-braid Groups, submitted to Applied Categorical Structures, the present authors together with Davide Maglia introduced the blocked-braid groups BB_n on n strands, and proved that a blocked torsion has order either 2 or 4.

Interactive Prompt‐Guided Robotic Grasping for Arbitrary Objects Based on Promptable Segment Anything Model and Force‐Closure Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A laser pointer‐guided robotic grasping method for arbitrary objects based on promptable segment anything model and force‐closure analysis is presented. Grasp generation methods based on force‐closure analysis can calculate the optimal grasps for objects through their appearances. However, the limited visual perception ability makes robots difficult to

Skin‐Conformal Myography for Real‐Time Hand Tracking Using a Laser‐Induced Graphene Strain Sensor Array

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A skin‐conformal wearable device based on laser‐induced graphene is developed for continuous strain measurement across the circumference of the forearm for gesture recognition and hand‐tracking applications. Post material optimization, the strain sensor array is integrated with a wearable wireless readout circuit for real‐time control of a robotic arm,

Effect of blocked trash rack on open channel infrastructure

open access: yes, 2020
Rack clogging can produce dramatic changes in channel hydraulics. Previous studies have investigated the hydraulics of trash racks for various parameters, but the methodology and the findings were not sufficiently refined.

Current‐Limiting Control Strategies in Variable Capacitance Electrostatic Energy Harvesters

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces control strategies for electrostatic energy harvesters that balance energy yield with current limitations. Two approaches are explored: traditional peak‐triggered controls, and newly developed quadrature controls, which use smooth voltage profiles.
