The humanitarian–development–peace (triple) nexus: a typology and critical reflections

open access: yesDisasters, Volume 50, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract This article explores how the humanitarian–development–peace (HDP) nexus (also known as the triple nexus) is operationalised, moving beyond policy discourse to implementation on the ground. Drawing on a systematic literature review, programme analysis, and field‐based observation, it proposes three operational approaches to the HDP nexus ...

Measuring perceived structural constraints on choice: The Structural Awareness Scale

open access: yesEnvironmental Psychology Research, Volume 1, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Background Structural factors such as infrastructure, regulation, and market dynamics shape everyday choices—from the affordability of healthy food to the accessibility of sustainable transportation. Yet psychological research has rarely examined how people perceive structural influences on their own behavior. Addressing this gap, we introduce

Antidepressant Use During Pregnancy and Birth Outcomes: Analysis From the UK, Norway, and Sweden

open access: yesPharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Volume 35, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although antidepressant use during pregnancy has been linked to adverse birth outcomes such as stillbirth and preterm delivery, existing evidence is conflicting and rarely presents absolute risk estimates. We aimed to assess the association between antidepressant use during pregnancy and birth outcomes, alongside estimates of absolute ...

Genetic and Environmental Effects on BMI Fluctuation Across the Adult Life Course and Its Associations With Baseline BMI and BMI Change: An Individual‐Based Study of 14 Longitudinal Twin Cohorts

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 9, Page 8418-8427, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Body mass index (BMI) fluctuation has adverse health consequences, yet its determinants remain poorly understood. We examined genetic and environmental influences on BMI fluctuation and its associations with BMI trajectories. Data and Methods Data from 14 longitudinal twin cohorts, including 58 311 individuals (54% women) and 22 ...

NbRD21 protease controls receptor kinase homeostasis in Nicotiana benthamiana

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2741-2752, September 2026.
Proteomic analysis revealed that receptor kinases (red) accumulate higher in rd21 knockout Nicotiana benthamiana plants. Summary RD21‐like proteases are papain‐like cysteine proteases with a C‐terminal granulin domain that are abundant and ubiquitous in angiosperms and have often been implicated in immunity.

A tomato MIK2‐clade receptor is involved in the perception of a Fusarium‐derived elicitor

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2777-2798, September 2026.
Fusarium elicitor responsivness and MIK2‐clade proteins are conserved across plant families. Summary Plants continuously monitor their environment to adapt to threats affecting health and fitness. Cell‐surface receptors detect conserved microbe‐associated molecular patterns (MAMPs) or endogenous immunogenic signals to activate signaling pathways that ...

Exploring Migrant Integration Through Local Governance: A Mixed‐Method Study With Local Administrators in Italy

open access: yesSocial Policy &Administration, Volume 60, Issue 5, Page 926-940, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Given the high concentration of ethnic and cultural diversity in Italy, various national policies have been implemented to foster migrant integration. However, local authorities play a crucial role, as they are directly responsible for translating policy frameworks into concrete practices and mediating between institutions, families and ...
