Alaska‐Yukon Glacier Depths From a Decade of Airborne Radar Sounding
Abstract NASA's Operation IceBridge employed airborne radar sounders in Alaska and adjacent northwestern Canada between 2012 and 2021 to measure the thickness of the region's glaciers. Here we present the first comprehensive analysis of these data, analyzing ∼31,700 linear‐km of radar profile data to provide over 5,500 linear‐km of ice thickness and ...

Detection of moving radar targets in clutter
The moving target indicator is investigated for threshold power and visibility in clutter. In search for improvements, electronic scanning of the antenna beam is proposed and a detector is considered combining more than two pulses at a time.

Self‐Supervised Radar Nowcasting of Typhoon Cloud Evolution
Abstract Self‐supervised learning (SSL) provides an innovative paradigm for pretraining without involving any new data or labels. However, its potential has not yet been evaluated in the field of typhoon raincloud nowcasting. Therefore, we explore two different SSL approaches: autoencoder (AE) and masked autoencoder (MAE).

A Novel Adaptive Ground Clutter Removal Algorithm for High Range Resolution MMW Radar
In this paper we present a novel adaptive ground clutter removal algorithm for high range resolution MMW-radar application where the dielectric contrast between the air and the ground material is close to or even higher than that between the target and ...

A new interpretation of multifrequency/multipolarization radar signatures of the Gulf Stream front
Radar signatures which are observed on SIR-C/X-SAR multifrequency/multipolarization synthetic aperture radar images of the Gulf Stream off the U.S. east coast are compared with results of simulations with a numerical radar imaging model. Based on in situ

Sea clutter power reduction in pulse forward scatter radar
A Forward Scatter Radar (FSR) system does not have range resolution so the clutter is collected from the whole surface illuminated by the antenna radar.
