Efficient Approach for Atmospheric Phase Screen Mitigation in Time Series of Terrestrial Radar Interferometry Data Applied to Measure Glacier Velocity

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
The accuracy of surface displacements measured by differential radar interferometry is significantly degraded by the atmospheric phase screen (APS). This article presents a practical and efficient approach for APS mitigation based on the coherent pixels ...

The worsening impacts of land reclamation assessed with Sentinel-1: The Rize (Turkey) test case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Massive amounts of land are being reclaimed to build airports, new cities, ports, and highways. Hundreds of kilometers are added each year, as coastlines are extended further out to the sea.

Web-based interactive visualization of PS-InSAR point clouds for education and training [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
In radar remote sensing education and training, only few people have a good knowledge of radar remote sensing and geology, which would be necessary fully analyse the surface motions estimated by persistent scatterer interferometry.

Polarimetric optimisation in radar interferometry

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1997
A general formulation for vector wave interferometry is outlined and the optimisation problem is then solved, involving maximisation of the phase coherence. In this way it is shown that wave polarisation effects play an important role in the extraction of information from radar interferograms.

Observing Seasonal Variabilities of a Permafrost Landscape With PolSAR, InSAR and Pol-InSAR

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) remote sensing is an established approach for observing Earth processes. The combination of different types of SAR acquisitions in polarimetric, interferometric, and polarimetric-interferometric frameworks is well studied ...

MONITORING OF THE UNDERMINED TERRITORIES OF KARAGANDA COAL BASIN ON THE BASIS OF SATELLITE RADAR INTERFEROMETRY [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
In the Karaganda coal basin, mines are located in close proximity to each other and to the city of Karaganda and ongoing mining operations are accompanied by a dangerous process of settling the earth's surface and monitoring are essential for the region ...

Seasonal Progression of Ground Displacement Identified with Satellite Radar Interferometry and the Impact of Unusually Warm Conditions on Permafrost at the Yamal Peninsula in 2016

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Ground subsidence monitoring by Synthetic Aperture Radar interferometry (InSAR) over Arctic permafrost areas is largely limited by long revisit intervals, which can lead to signal decorrelation. Recent satellite missions such as COSMO-Skymed (X-band) and
