Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Smart REASSURED Sensors via Machine‐Augmented Printable On‐Paper Arrays
This perspective highlights the emerging role of pattern‐recognition, printable on‐paper sensor arrays for intelligent PoC diagnostics. It discusses how paper's inherent limitations can be overcome through surface modification and scalable printing, and how machine‐learning analysis of cross‐reactive arrays enables multiplexed, low‐cost, and REASSURED ...

Weather Radar Network Benefit Model for Tornadoes
A monetized tornado benefit model is developed for arbitrary weather radar network configurations. Geospatial regression analyses indicate that improvement of two key radar parameters—fraction of vertical space observed and cross-range horizontal ...

In-Field Demonstration of a Photonic Coherent MIMO Distributed Radar Network
This paper reports an in-field experiment of a photonics-based coherent MIMO radar network. The use of photonics guarantees the coherence of the transmitted and received RF signals, and allows remoting the antennas exploiting deployed optical fibers ...

Optimal Planning of a Weather Radar Network
An approach to the optimal planning of a weather radar network is presented. In the approach, several aspects affecting the planning decision, including terrain blockage, the need to measure with two Doppler weather radars in some regions, and the environmental impact of their installation, are taken into account using a proper mathematical formulation.

Coordinated radar resource management for networked phased array radars
A phased array radar has the ability to rapidly and adaptively position beams and adjust dwell times, thus enabling a single radar to perform multiple functions, such as surveillance, tracking and fire control. A radar resource manager prioritises and schedules tasks from the various functions to best use available resources.
