A Lightweight, Elastic, and Thermally Insulating Stealth Foam With High Infrared‐Radar Compatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
The development of infrared‐radar compatible materials/devices is challenging because the requirements of material properties between infrared and radar stealth are contradictory.

Performance Limits for Synthetic Aperture Radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The performance of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system depends on a variety of factors, many which are interdependent in some manner. It is often difficult to ''get your arms around'' the problem of ascertaining achievable performance limits, and yet those limits exist and are dictated by physics, no matter how bright the engineer tasked to ...

Fundamental aspects of netted radar performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Netted radar employs several spatially distributed transmitters and receivers for information retrieval. This system topology offers many advantages over traditional monostatic and bistatic systems which use a single transmitter and a single receiver ...

MIMO noise radar - matched filters and coarrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Copyright © 2008 IEEEThe noise radar concept can be extended to an array of K transmit antenna and M receive antenna. When independent noise sources are transmitted from each antenna the approach may be viewed as a special case of MIMO radar and matched ...

Non‐Additive Criteria Assessment in Sustainability Evaluation of High Entropy Alloys: A Toxicity‐Weighted Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sustainability assessment requires methodologies that appropriately distinguish between additive and non‐additive material properties. A toxicity‐weighted scoring system is developed and applied that accounts for the disproportionate influence of highly toxic constituents through nonlinear weighting functions, providing more realistic estimates than ...

Jamming Effects on Hybrid Multistatic Radar Network Range and Velocity Estimation Errors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This research studies the effects of three noise jamming techniques on the performance of a hybrid multistatic radar network in a selection of different electronic warfare (EW) situations.

Measurements and analysis of multistatic and multimodal micro-Doppler signatures for automatic target classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The purpose of this paper is to present an experimental trial carried out at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom to measure simultaneous multistatic and multimodal micro-Doppler signatures of various targets, including humans and flying UAVs ...

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

Radar matched filtering using the fractional fourier transform [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
-A matched filter is the optimal linear filter for maximizing the signal to noise ratio (SNR) in the presence of additive noise. Matched filters are commonly used in radar systems where the transmitted signal is known and may be used as a replica to be ...

Subspace Compressive GLRT Detector for MIMO Radar in the Presence of Clutter

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2015
The problem of optimising the target detection performance of MIMO radar in the presence of clutter is considered. The increased false alarm rate which is a consequence of the presence of clutter returns is known to seriously degrade the target detection
