Weather Radar Polarimetry [Book Review]
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 2018This book is a valuable reference book on weather radars and their associated algorithms, and it is written by a vital member of the University of Oklahoma Advanced Radar Research Center. As someone who originally studied physics for his B.S.

Understanding Reciprocity in Radar Polarimetry
1992Unconventional techniques are presented for analysis of the effects of two-way propagation on electromagnetic fields. Difficulties arising from the use of different coordinate systems for transmission and reception are demonstrated and discussed. The effects of linear processes and reciprocity are worked out in detail.

Weibull Distribution in Radar Polarimetry
1992Most of the clutter received by a pulse radar obeys Weibull distribution with various values of the shape parameters. Rice crop field was measured using an FM-CW radar with a frequency of 9.6 GHz, frequency excursion 200 MHz, modulation frequency 850 Hz, horizontal and vertical polarizations, transmitter power 13 dBm and horn antenna.

Radar polarimetry towards a future standardization

Foundations of bistatic radar polarimetry theory
Radar Systems (RADAR 97), 1997The radar polarimetry first theoretical approach in the bistatic case is presented and derived from the classical monostatic case theory. Moreover, using a geometrical construction on the Poincare sphere, we show how to define the scattered received polarisation state vector from a knowledge of the target parameters (Euler angles /spl psi/, /spl tau/, /

Modelling radar polarimetry of planetary surfaces
IntroductionPlanetary surfaces are typically composed of particles from micrometer scale up to decimeter-to-meter scale. Particle morphology plays a key role in the polarimetric properties of planetary surfaces with wavelength-scale particles and thus, in understanding polarimetric observations of planetary bodies.Anne Virkki, Mikael Turkki

Measurement and Analysis in Radar Polarimetry
1992In this paper we consider methods for the measurement and analysis of polarimetric target information. We concentrate on three main areas; the design of a single channel real time Stokes receiver, conditions for physical realisability of the Stokes reflection matrix and a generalisation of the optimum polarisation theory of Kennaugh and Graves to the ...
