Analytical coupling simulation on radar targets

2016 17th International Radar Symposium (IRS), 2016
The author reports about the progress of an in-house developed radar simulator for active and passive electromagnetic sensing. The goal of the development is to create a very fast simulation tool with an analytical approach. In this paper, the analytical description for the coupling between the radar antennas over radar scatterers is described.

A Target Simulator for Frequency Agile Radars

11th European Microwave Conference, 1981, 1981
A prototype radar target simulator is described possessing features essential for testing frequency-agile and coherent systems. A high speed frequency tracking unit is described and measured performance limitations discussed. A variable range simulator using surface acoustic wave devices is assessed and shown to be suitable for coherent applications. A

Simulation of radar target echo based on Simulink

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
In order to simulate the whole procedure of the production of radar echo clearly, the paper firstly starts with the mathematical models of radar signals, and then deduces and sets up the mathematical expression for echo signals of targets. Also, general way to design simulation of echo is discussed in this paper and Simulink software is used to ...

The target IF signals simulation of three-dimensional radar

2004 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04EX914), 2004
To provide a test platform for EW systems, the TDRSS (three-dimensional radar simulation system) was developed. The paper discusses the target signal simulation in TDRSS; simulation results prove that the algorithm could accurately represent the target IF return of three-dimensional radar.

Fidelity aspects of radar target and environment simulation

NTC '91 - National Telesystems Conference Proceedings, 2002
Over the last ten years, Cross Systems has been developing real-time radar target and environment simulators according to end user requirements. The authors address, in general terms, some of the simulation modeling that has been implemented in these simulators with an emphasis on the varying degrees of model fidelity, especially relative to the end ...

Target movement simulation for testing monopulse radar

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1995 Digest, 2002
Fast moving target simulator is required for testing the performance of monopulse radar. This paper deals with an electronically controlled phased array for the simulation of a fast moving target. A scheme consisting of four horn antennas with a precision attenuator (0.25 dB step) and 4 bit phase shifter is suggested, which will cover /spl plusmn/5.5 ...

Rapid radar backscatter simulation of detailed targets

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1990
A method of rapidly simulating the radar backscatter signatures of targets moving relative to a fuzzing radar located on an interceptor missile is described. A geometric optics approach is used to estimate the radar return from a detailed target surface described by functions which are almost everywhere curvature continuous.
