The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Free vibrations and buckling analysis of laminated plates by oscillatory radial basis functions
In this paper the free vibrations and buckling analysis of laminated plates is performed using a global meshless method. A refined version of Kant’s theorie which accounts for transverse normal stress and through-the-thickness deformation is used.

Radial basis functions under tension
Radial basis function interpolation is one of the prime methods for interpolation to scattered data in more than one dimension. Both for application and for the theory, so-called native spaces associated with the radial basis functions are very important.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

On Quasi-interpolation with Radial Basis Functions
The author shows that infinite linear combinations of translates of radial functions can be defined that provide polynomial exactness in spaces whose dimensions are not restricted to a prescribed parity as it was usually assumed. Complete proofs as well as comments and references are presented along the paper.
