Adopting the Multiresolution Wavelet Analysis in Radial Basis Functions to Solve the Perona-Malik Equation [PDF]
Wavelets and radial basis functions (RBF) have ubiquitously proved very successful to solve different forms of partial differential equations (PDE) using shifted basis functions, and as with the other meshless methods, they have been extensively used in ...

ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Some efficient radial basis functions (RBFs) have a free parameter called the shape parameter that controls the shape of approximating function. This parameter is mainly selected by trial and error related to the problem.

Enhancing SPH using moving least-squares and radial basis functions
In this paper we consider two sources of enhancement for the meshfree Lagrangian particle method smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) by improving the accuracy of the particle approximation.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Simulating backward wave propagation in metamaterial with radial basis functions
In this paper we revisit the radial basis function (RBF) meshless method and implement it to solve the time-dependent Maxwell's equations in metamaterials.

In this paper we propose an approximation method for solving second kind Volterra integral equation systems by radial basis functions. It is based on the minimization of a suitable functional in a discrete space generated by compactly supported radial ...

Convexity and solvability for compactly supported radial basis functions with different shapes [PDF]
It is known that interpolation with radial basis functions of the same shape can guarantee a non-singular interpolation matrix, whereas little is known when one uses various shapes. In this paper, we prove that a class of compactly supported radial basis

Mean Dimension of Radial Basis Functions
We show that generalized multiquadric radial basis functions (RBFs) on $\mathbb{R}^d$ have a mean dimension that is $1+O(1/d)$ as $d\to\infty$ with an explicit bound for the implied constant, under moment conditions on their inputs. Under weaker moment conditions the mean dimension still approaches $1$.

Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.
