Radial Probe Endobronchial Ultrasound
2013Radial probe endobronchial ultrasound is a technique in which a small ultrasound probe is introduced into the tracheobronchial lumen to obtain sonographic images of peribronchial tissues. Using a water-filled balloon around the probe, five-layered structure of the tracheal and bronchial wall can be identified with this technique in normal subjects.

The diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) is a challenging task for pulmonologists. Radial probe endobronchial ultrasound (R-EBUS) has been developed to enhance diagnostic yield. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of R-EBUS in the diagnosis of PPLs.A retrospective study was conducted on 174 patients diagnosed with ...

: Pulmonary nodules are frequently encountered in clinical practice, but diagnostic sensitivity of traditional bronchoscopy remains less than desirable. Transbronchial biopsy (TBBX) under fluoroscopic guidance with flexible bronchoscopy has a sensitivity of 34% for lesions 20 mm. Navigational technologies such as electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy

Abstract Rationale Technological advances have improved the ability of bronchoscopists to access peripheral pulmonary lesions for tissue sampling. Radial probe endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) provides real-time feedback to guide biopsies of peripheral lesions, thereby potentially improving ...

Tuberculosis frequently poses diagnostic challenge when it presents as a peripheral pulmonary lesion (TB-PPL). The growing use of radial endobronchial ultrasound (rEBUS) for PPL biopsy highlights the need to identify predictive factors for TB-PPL, which is crucial for procedure safety.A six-year retrospective review at our institution on adult patients

ABSTRACTBackground and objective: Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) has improved the diagnostic yield of transbronchial biopsy of peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPL). While EBUS diagnostic yield has been the focus of the majority of publications, few have investigated factors associated with EBUS visualization yield.

Endobronchial Ultrasound-Radial Probe–Assisted Cryobiopsy for Peripheral Lung Mass
Journal of Bronchology & Interventional Pulmonology, 2016Solitary pulmonary nodules pose a diagnostic challenge as traditional techniques like bronchoscopic transbronchial biopsies or percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsies suffer either from poor yield or unacceptable complications. The advent of endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-radial probe (RP) has helped to guide the operator to the lesion more ...

Introduction: Diagnostic yield of bronchoscopy for peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) has improved since the application of radial endobronchial ultrasound (R-EBUS). The obtained EBUS image is known to relate the diagnostic yield. However, we sometimes fail to diagnose even if we get the EBUS within image. So we attempted to find out the factors that
