On the Effect of Cavitation on the Radial Forces and Hydrodynamic Stiffness of a Centrifugal Pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
The asymmetric flow within a volute exerts a radial force on a centrifugal impeller. The present paper presents experimental measurements of the radial forces on the impeller in the presence of ...

Analysis of the velocity field of granular hopper flow

open access: yes, 2015
We report the analysis of radial characteristics of the flow of granular material through a conical hopper. The discharge is simulated for various orifice sizes and hopper opening angles.

Radial and elliptic flow at RHIC: further predictions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Using a hydrodynamic model, we predict the transverse momentum dependence of the spectra and the elliptic flow for different hadrons in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s) = 130 A GeV.

Stochastic quantization and holographic Wilsonian renormalization group

open access: yes, 2012
We study relation between stochastic quantization and holographic Wilsonian renormalization group flow. Considering stochastic quantization of the boundary on-shell actions with the Dirichlet boundary condition for certain $AdS$ bulk gravity theories, we

Topical Menthol, Ice, Peripheral Blood Flow, and Perceived Discomfort [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Context : Injury management commonly includes decreasing arterial blood flow to the affected site in an attempt to reduce microvascular blood flow and edema and limit the induction of inflammation.

Reversed Currents in Charged Liquid Bridges

open access: yes, 2017
The velocity profile in a water bridge is reanalyzed. Assuming hypothetically that the bulk charge has a radial distribution, a surface potential is formed that is analogous to the Zeta potential.

Incorporating Radial Flow in the Lattice Gas Model for Nuclear Disassembly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We consider extensions of the lattice gas model to incorporate radial flow. Experimental data are used to set the magnitude of radial flow. This flow is then included in the Lattice Gas Model in a microcanonical formalism.

Thermal photon to dilepton ratio in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions

open access: yes, 2009
The ratio of transverse momentum distribution of thermal photons to dilepton has been evaluated. It is observed that this ratio reaches a plateau beyond a certain value of transverse momentum.

Stability of radial swirl flows

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2012
The energy gradient theory is used to examine the stability of radial swirl flows. It is found that the flow of free vortex is always stable, while the introduction of a radial flow will induce the flow to be unstable. It is also shown that the pure radial flow is stable.
