Evaluation of radial and ulnar artery blood flow after radial artery decannulation using colour Doppler ultrasound

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2021
Background There is a lack of reports in the literature regarding changes in radial artery blood flow after decannulation. The objective of this study was to investigate changes in radial and ulnar artery blood flow after radial artery decannulation ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Influence of Flow Field's Radial Dimension on Ventilated Supercavitating Flow

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2020
To investigate the influence of flow field's radial dimension on the flow of the portion gas-leakage supercavity, based on the two-fluid multiphase flow model and SST turbulence model, considering the compressibility of ventilated gas, a 3D simulation ...

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

A COMPLEMENTARY CONVENTIONAL ANALYSIS FOR CHANNELIZED RESERVOIRS Análisis convencional complementario para yacimientos alagados

open access: yesCT&F Ciencia, Tecnología & Futuro, 2007
Many well pressure data coming from long and narrow reservoirs which result from either fluvial deposition of faulting cannot be completely interpreted by conventional analysis since some flow regimes are not conventionally recognized yet in the oil ...

DETERMINATION OF VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL PERMEABILITIES FOR VERTICAL OIL AND GAS WELLS WITH PARTIAL COMPLETION AND PARTIAL PENETRATION USING PRESSURE AND PRESSURE DERIVATIVE PLOTS WITHOUT TYPE-CURVE MATCHING DETERMINACIÓN DE PERMEABILIDADES VERTICAL Y HORIZONTAL EN POZOS VERTICALES DE GAS Y PETRÓLEO, CON COMPLETAMIENTO Y PENETRACIÓN PARCIAL A PARTIR DE PLOTEOS DE PRESIÓN Y PRESIÓN DERIVADA, SIN AJUSTE TIPO CURVA

open access: yesCT&F Ciencia, Tecnología & Futuro, 2005
it has been long recognized that in some reservoirs the flow does not follow the expected radial cylindrical pattern. Spherical flow may take place in systems with wells completed in thick reservoirs where a short completion interval is open to flow ...

Heat and mass transfer characteristics of the gas−solid two-phase model in a π-shaped centripetal radial flow adsorber

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2019
In order to investigate the heat and the mass transfer during pressure swing adsorption (PSA) for oxygen production and improve oxygen production efficiency, a gas-solid two-phase pressure swing adsorption model was established for the π-shaped ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting
