Hitting probabilities of a Brownian flow with radial drift [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 2020
We consider a stochastic flow $ _t(x, )$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$ with initial point $ _0(x, )=x$, driven by a single $n$-dimensional Brownian motion, and with an outward radial drift of magnitude $\frac{ F(\| _t(x)\|)}{\| _t(x)\|}$, with $F$ nonnegative, bounded and Lipschitz.

Particulate Modeling of Sand Production Using Coupled DEM-LBM

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Sand production is a complex phenomenon caused by the erosion of borehole walls during the extraction of hydrocarbons. In this paper, the sanding process in a typical Thick-Walled Hollow Cylinder (TWHC) test is numerically simulated.

A radial flow microfluidic device for ultra-high-throughput affinity-based isolation of circulating tumor cells.

open access: yesSmall, 2014
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are believed to play an important role in metastasis, a process responsible for the majority of cancer-related deaths.

Examine the species and beam-energy dependence of particle spectra using Tsallis Statistics

open access: yes, 2010
Tsallis Statistics was used to investigate the non-Boltzmann distribution of particle spectra and their dependence on particle species and beam energy in the relativistic heavy-ion collisions at SPS and RHIC.

Transient Pressure Analysis of a Multiple Fractured Well in a Stress-Sensitive Coal Seam Gas Reservoir

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This paper investigates the bottom-hole pressure (BHP) performance of a fractured well with multiple radial fracture wings in a coalbed methane (CBM) reservoir with consideration of stress sensitivity.

Nuclear modification factor in intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The transverse momentum dependent nuclear modification factors (NMF), namely $R_{CP}$, is investigated for protons produced in Au + Au at 1$A$ GeV within the framework of the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model. It is found that the

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive

Onset of radial flow in p+p collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
It has been debated for decades whether hadrons emerging from p+p collisions exhibit collective expansion. The signal of the collective motion in p+p collisions is not as clear as in heavy-ion collisions because of the low multiplicity and large ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

P.09 Differential Low Flow Mediated Constriction (LFMC) Responses in Radial and Brachial Arteries of Healthy Humans are Attributed to Occlusion Induced Flow Changes

open access: yesArtery Research, 2020
Background: Literature describes differences in Low flow mediated constriction (LFMC) of radial versus brachial artery [1,2]. We investigated whether differences in occlusion induced changes in luminal flow and shear rates could explain the observed ...
