Radial limits and radial growth of cauchy-stieltjes transforms
Complex Variables, Theory and Application: An International Journal, 1993This paper studies the radial limit and me radial growth of functions defined by where μ is a complex-valued Borel measure. The results depend on local properties of the measure μ. Various nontangential limits associated with f are shown to hold off exceptional sets whose s -capacity is zero.

Radial growth dynamics of nanowires
Journal of Crystal Growth, 2001In this brief paper, wt: address the problem of the radial growth dynamics of a nanowire due to the vapor-solid (VS) process while at the same time it grows along its axial direction due to vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) process. We show that there exists a critical radius at a certain saturation and that the nanowire will thicken if its initial radius is ...

UNIVALENT FUNCTIONS AND RADIAL GROWTH
Mathematika, 2015Summary: We address a question raised by \textit{J. M. Anderson} et al. [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 171, No. 1--2, 27--37 (2004; Zbl 1059.30013)] relating to a classical result on univalent functions \(f\) in the unit disc due to Spencer, and involving the size of the set of \(\theta\in [-\pi,\pi]\) for which we have \[ \log |f(r\mathrm{e}^{\mathrm{i ...

RADIAL GROWTH IN THE CYCADALES
American Journal of Botany, 1980The development of radial growth which leads to the pachycaulous form was investigated in eight of the 10 genera of the Cycadales; i.e., Ceratozamia, Cycas, Dioon, Encephalartos, Macrozamia, Microcycas, Stangeria, and Zamia. In all taxa, development of radial growth is essentially the same: a primary thickening meristem is differentiated in the stelar ...

The growth of monocrystals from a punctual seed shows, after sometimes, four or six petal fingers depending on the crystal symmetry. In the limit of very small Peclet numbers, they are comparable to anomalous fingers growing in a wedge. It is the reason why we examine numerically the selection of self-similar growing fingers by an anisotropic surface ...

Radial growth plate injury in a female gymnast
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 1991Radial growth plate injury is a cause of wrist pain in female gymnasts. The mechanism of injury and its relationship to dowel grips, now standard gymnastic equipment, are considered. An athlete's response to a treatment approach emphasizing moderation and protection is described.

Ulnar Growth Patterns in Radial Longitudinal Deficiency
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2006To determine the association between centralization surgical procedures and the longitudinal growth of the ulna in radial longitudinal deficiency (RLD).The charts of 90 patients with 124 affected limbs were reviewed. Thirty-four patients were affected bilaterally and 56 were affected unilaterally. Based on the Bayne and Klug classification there were 5

Postoperative Growth in Radial Polydactyly: A Clinical Study
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2016This study was designed to evaluate thumb growth after surgical management of a duplicate thumb and investigate its developmental pattern. We compared the thumbs and index fingers of 486 normal children (aged 1-18 y) (group A) with 15 children showing radial polydactyly (group B).

Stress injury of the distal radial growth plate
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1988We report 21 cases of stress injury of the distal radial growth plate-occurring in gymnasts before skeletal maturity. The injury appears to be caused by inability of the growth plate to withstand rotational and compressive forces. Our observations have confirmed that the skeletal age of gymnasts is retarded, which increases the length of time during ...
