Inverse Design of Nanoparticulate Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inverse design shifts nanomaterial development from empirical trial‐and‐error to predictive model‐driven strategies. It can rely on knowledge‐based, data‐based, or hybrid process and property functions. This perspective article provides a practical framework for applying inverse design based on instructive examples. It discusses which modeling approach

Nonplanar Bouligand Architectures for Enhanced Mechanical Performance in Cementitious Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by the impact region of the Mantis shrimp dactyl club, nonplanar additive manufacturing translates sinusoidal Bouligand architectures into cementitious composites. Printing‐induced anisotropy and architected interfaces promote distributed damage and arrest crack propagation, enhancing strength and energy absorption.

Primary replacement of the fractured radial head with a metal prosthesis

open access: yes, 1993
Compression testing of cadaver specimens showed that excision of the radial head allowed proximal radial displacement. The insertion of a metallic radial head restored normal mechanics, while a silicone rubber implant did not.

Thermoplastic Dielectric Coatings for Flexible Electrodynamic Dust Shields: Structural and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Thermoplastic attachment is introduced as a scalable surface coating strategy to improve the durability and dielectric reliability of flexible electrodynamic dust shields. By embedding chemically modified reduced graphene oxide (CMrGO) electrodes within thermoplastic laminates, mechanical degradation, abrasion damage, and vacuum‐induced electrical ...

Evaluation of Functional Outcome of Prosthetic Replacement of Comminuted Radial Head and Neck Fracture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
INTRODUCTION: Radial head fractures are the most common fractures of the elbow with an estimated incidence of 2.5 to 2.9 / 10,000 people / year. Radial head fractures are more common in women than men and most frequently occur between the age of 20 & 60

Comminuted fractures of the radial head and neck: is fixation to the shaft necessary?

open access: yes, 2011
Mason type III fractures of the radial head are treated by open reduction and internal fixation, resection or prosthetic joint replacement. When internal fixation is performed, fixation of the radial head to the shaft is difficult and implant-related ...

Smart Electrospun Nanofibers for Controlled Oil‐Water Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Stimuli‐responsive electrospun nanofibers are reviewed as advanced platforms for controlled oil/water separation. The effects of surface wettability, porous structure, and external stimuli, including pH, temperature, gas, and light, on separation performance are discussed.

Evolution of OLED Lamination Technology With Development of Display Form Factors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review evaluates the evolution of organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) lamination technologies alongside advancing display form factors. It contrasts optically clear adhesives and resins, highlighting uniformity control for rigid screens, bubble‐free optimization for bended architectures, and visible‐light curing for foldable layers.

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...
