Dynamics of an ensemble of clumps embedded in a magnetized ADAF

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate effects of a global magnetic field on the dynamics of an ensemble of clumps within a magnetized advection-dominated accretion flow by neglecting interactions between the clumps and then solving the collisionless Boltzman equation.

Galactic and Accretion Disk Dynamos [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Dynamos in astrophysical disks are usually explained in terms of the standard alpha-omega mean field dynamo model where the local helicity generates a radial field component from an azimuthal field.

Are the Magnetic Fields Radial in the Solar Polar Region?

open access: yesResearch Notes of the AAS, 2021
Abstract We investigate the orientation of the photospheric magnetic fields in the solar polar region using observations from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI). Inside small patches of significant polarization, the inferred magnetic field vectors at 1″ scale appear to systematically deviate from the radial direction.

Effects of magnetic field strength in the discharge channel on the performance of a multi-cusped field thruster

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
The performance characteristics of a Multi-cusped Field Thruster depending on the magnetic field strength in the discharge channel were investigated. Four thrusters with different outer diameters of the magnet rings were designed to change the magnetic ...

The Coma cluster magnetic field from Faraday rotation measures

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of the present work is to constrain the Coma cluster magnetic field strength, its radial profile and power spectrum by comparing Faraday Rotation Measure (RM) images with numerical simulations of the magnetic field.

Ulysses observations of the radial magnetic field

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 1995
The radial component of the magnetic field in the southern hemisphere has been measured at Ulysses as it traveled from the equator to −80.2° latitude and returned. The radial component multiplied by the square of the radial distance, i.e., BRr², averaged over 77 day intervals (three solar rotations) is approximately constant at −3.5 nT and shows no ...

Magneto-Elastic Analysis of an Annular FGM Plate Based on Classical Plate Theory Using GDQ Method

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Using GDQ method, the radial and circumferential stresses in an annular FGM plate with a uniform thickness under a transverse axisymmetric load is investigated. It is assumed that a uniform radial magnetic field acts on the top surface of the plate.

Global enhancement and structure formation of the magnetic field in spiral galaxies

open access: yes, 2017
We study numerically large-scale magnetic field evolution and its enhancement in gaseous disks of spiral galaxies. We consider a set of models with the various spiral pattern parameters and the initial magnetic field strength with taking into account gas
