Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Spin momentum-dependent orbital motion

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
We present a theoretic analysis on (azimuthal) spin momentum-dependent orbital motion experienced by particles in a circularly-polarized annular focused field. Unlike vortex phase-relevant (azimuthal) orbital momentum flow whose direction is specified by

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Rapid Dynamic Separation of Radial and Azimuthal Polarization Components in Circular Airy Vortex Beams via Linear Electro-Optic Effect in Uniaxial Crystals

open access: yesPhotonics
This paper presents a rapid approach for the dynamic separation of radial polarization (R-pol) and azimuthal polarization (A-pol) components in circular Airy vortex beams (CAVBs) by utilizing the linear electro-optic (EO) effect in uniaxial crystals.

Theoretical Analysis and Experimental Verification of the Influence of Polarization on Counter-Propagating Optical Tweezers

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
Counter-propagating optical tweezers are experimental platforms for the frontier exploration of science and precision measurement. The polarization of the trapping beams significantly affects the trapping status. Using the T-matrix method, we numerically

Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.

Spatial Dynamics of a Radially Polarized Terahertz Laser Beam with a Phase Singularity

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
Analytical expressions are obtained that describe the nonparaxial diffraction in free space of the TM01 mode with radial polarization of the field of the dielectric waveguide resonator of a terahertz laser during its interaction with a spiral phase plate

Azimuthally and radially polarized light with a nematic SLM

open access: yesOptics Express, 2009
We demonstrate a technique for generating azimuthally and radially polarized beams using a nematic liquid crystal spatial light modulator and a pi phase step. The technique is similar in concept to prior techniques that interfere TEM(01) and TEM(10) laser modes, but the presented technique removes the requirement of interferometric stability.

Radial Polarization with Spherulite Structures Grown in an Oleoresin

open access: yes, 2021
Spherulites as polarizing needles are grown within an oleoresin extracted from an indigenous Philippine plant. A polarizing cell is fabricated with the oleoresin as the primary component.
