Fast Radial Symmetry Detection for Traffic Sign Recognition

open access: yes, 2015
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are technology systems and devices designed as an aid to the driver of a vehicle. One of the critical components of any ADAS is the traffic sign recognition module.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Liouville theorems for $p$-Laplace equations with critical Hardy–Hénon exponents

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
This paper is concerned with possibly sign-changing solutions to the critical $p$-Laplace equation $-\Delta _p u = \vert {x}\vert ^\alpha \vert {u}\vert ^{p^*_\alpha -2}u$ in $\Omega $, $u=0$ on $\partial \Omega $, where $1-p$, $p^*_\alpha =\frac{(N ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Asymptotic behavior of singular solutions to semilinear fractional elliptic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
In this article we study the asymptotic behavior of positive singular solutions to the equation $$ (-\Delta)^{\alpha} u+u^p=0\quad\text{in } \Omega\setminus\{0\}, $$ subject to the conditions $u=0$ in $\Omega^c$ and $\lim_{x\to0}u(x)=\infty ...

Global Existence in Nonlinear Hyperbolic Thermoelasticity with Radial Symmetry

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we consider a nonlinear system of hyperbolic thermoelasticity in two or three dimensions with Dirichlet boundary conditions in the case of radial symmetry.

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Some Properties of Positive Solutions for Nonlinear Systems Involving Pseudo-Relativistic Operators

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In this paper, we mainly investigate the radial symmetry and monotonicity of positive solutions for a nonlinear system involving pseudo-relativistic operators and fractional derivatives of order (0,1).

Radial symmetry of solutions to diffusion equations with discontinuous nonlinearities

open access: yes
We prove a radial symmetry result for bounded nonnegative solutions to the p-Laplacian semilinear equation −Δpu=f(u) posed in a ball of Rn and involving discontinuous nonlinearities f.

Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.
