Fano resonances in antennas: General control over radiation patterns
The concepts of many optical devices are based on the fundamental physical phenomena such as resonances. One of the commonly used devices is an electromagnetic antenna that converts localized energy into freely propagating radiation and vise versa ...

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Radiation effects control: Eyes, skin [PDF]
Adverse effects on the lens of the eye and the skin due to exposure to proton radiation during manned space flight were evaluated. Actual proton irradiation which might be encountered in space was simulated.

Gamma radiation-induced impairment of hippocampal neurogenesis, comparison of single and fractionated dose regimens Deterioro de la neurogénesis en el hipocampo inducida por radiación gamma, comparación de los regímenes de dosis única y fraccionada [PDF]
Radiation therapy of the brain is associated with many consequences, including cognitive disorders. Pathogenesis of radiation induced cognitive disorder is not clear, but reduction of neurogenesis in hippocampus may be an underlying reason. 24 adult male

Insights into a long life without cancer: The case of the bowhead whale
Long‐lived, large‐bodied organisms have evolved powerful anticancer mechanisms that preserve cellular and tissue integrity across extended lifespans. A recent study by Firsanov et al. shows that greater genome stability is a key factor underlying the remarkable longevity and cancer resistance of one such species, the bowhead whale.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
