Detection of Radiation Products
Radiation Research Supplement, 1963The elementary principles of electron paramagnetic resonance are reviewed and data are reevaluated in the light of more recent experiments. Emphasis is placed on the magnetic parameters derived from the experimental results that are used to describe free radicals induced by radiation in biological systems.

Radiation detection and measurement
1980The fact that the human body is unable to sense ionizing radiation is probably responsible for much of the general apprehension about this type of hazard. Reliance must be placed on detection devices which are based on the physical or chemical effects of radiation.

Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 1997
This report is 11th in the series on Spectrochemical Methods of Analysis issued by IUPAC Commission V.4. It is concerned with Radiation Detection as used in analytical atomic and molecular emission, absorption, and fluorescence spectroscopy in the X-ray and optical wavelength region (i.e. from 10 pm to 1 mm).

The term radiation refers to the continual emission of energy from a surface. Since thermal imaging systems are non-contact measuring devices, they sense the radiation that appears to emanate from the surface. The emitted energy depends upon the surface temperature and surface characteristics.
