Radiation hardness of open Fabry-Pérot microcavities

open access: yesOptics Express
High-finesse microcavities offer a platform for compact, high-precision sensing by employing high-reflectivity, low-loss mirrors to create effective optical path lengths that are orders of magnitude larger than the device geometry. Here, we investigate the radiation hardness of Fabry-Pérot microcavities formed from dielectric mirrors deposited on the ...

A fiber detector radiation hardness test [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2000
An intense 146 MeV/c pion beam was stopped inside a scintillating fiber detector made out of 12 planes with 16 pixels each, where every pixel consists out of 8 times 8 scintillating fibers of 500 mkm diameter dense packed. The detector was irradiated for 52 hours to more than 1 Mrad at its center.

RADIATION HARDNESS OF POLYSILOXANE-BASED SCINTILLATORS

open access: yesProblems of Atomic Science and Technology, 2022
Polysiloxane-based scintillators with different contant of aromatic chromophore groups have been obtained. 2,5-diphenyloxazole and its alkyl derivative were used as activators. The optical and scintillation properties of the obtained polysiloxane scintillators have been studied, and their radiation resistance has been determined.

Optical Design of a Quantitative Microvolume Nucleic Acid Spectrophotometer with Non-Optical Fiber and All Radiation-Hardened Lens Elements

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
The purity of the nucleic acid samples obtained by extraction/precipitation or adsorption chromatography must be verified with microvolume spectrophotometry to ensure a high success rate of the subsequent nucleic acid sequencing while exploring the trace

The flux of hard radiation from M87 [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1970
This paper reports upon an observation of hard X-radiation from the direction of M87. Earlier (Haymes et al., 1968a), we reported the apparent detection of hard radiation from the general direction of Virgo; the experiment discussed here, conducted 16 months later, recorded approximately the same flux from a smaller region of sky that tends to isolate ...

Investigate the Equivalence of Neutrons and Protons in Single Event Effects Testing: A Geant4 Study

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Neutron radiation on advanced integrated circuits (ICs) is becoming important for their reliable operation. However, a neutron test on ICs is expensive and time-consuming.

Analysis and Hardening of SEGR in Trench VDMOS with Termination Structure

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
Single-event gate-rupture (SEGR) in the trench vertical double-diffused power MOSFET (VDMOS) occurs at a critical bias voltage during heavy-ion experiments. Fault analysis demonstrates that the hot spot is located at the termination of the VDMOS, and the
