RADIATION HARDNESS OF POLYSILOXANE-BASED SCINTILLATORS

open access: yesProblems of Atomic Science and Technology, 2022
Polysiloxane-based scintillators with different contant of aromatic chromophore groups have been obtained. 2,5-diphenyloxazole and its alkyl derivative were used as activators. The optical and scintillation properties of the obtained polysiloxane scintillators have been studied, and their radiation resistance has been determined.

Radiation hardness of CMS pixel barrel modules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Pixel detectors are used in the innermost part of the multi purpose experiments at LHC and are therefore exposed to the highest fluences of ionising radiation, which in this part of the detectors consists mainly of charged pions.

Assessment of Proton Direct Ionization for the Radiation Hardness Assurance of Deep Submicron SRAMs Used in Space Applications

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2021
Proton direct ionization (PDI) from low-energy protons has been shown to have a potentially significant impact on the accuracy of prediction methods used to calculate the upset rates (URs) of memory devices in space applications for state-of-the-art deep

Neutron irradiation of flint glasses for optics in ITER

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2018
Radiation-resistant optics, which is necessary to transfer light from plasma to detectors in ITER, will be exposed to neutron fluxes at D-T stage. Achromatic lenses located in the interspace and in the port cell areas must have a sufficient optical ...

Radiation Hardness Assurance Through System-Level Testing: Risk Acceptance, Facility Requirements, Test Methodology, and Data Exploitation

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2021
Functional verification schemes at a level different from component-level testing are emerging as a cost-effective tool for those space systems for which the risk associated with a lower level of assurance can be accepted. Despite the promising potential,
