Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Radiation effects on natural convection in air in a divergent channel with uniformly heated plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Nowadays trends in natural convection heat transfer are oriented toward either the seeking of new configurations to enhance the heat transfer parameters or the optimization of standard configurations.

Effects of solar radiation on cabin temperature inside special vehicles and human heat transfer

open access: yes环境与职业医学
BackgroundDue to the strong sunlight in summer, the temperature on the vehicle deck rises significantly under solar radiation and the internal structures are heated, resulting in prominent heat stress problems in the cabin and seriously affecting the ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

HOW TO TEACH HEAT TRANSFER MORE SYSTEMATICALLY: INVOLVING ENTROPY AND SOME NEWLY DEFINED QUANTITIES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In order to teach heat transfer systematically and with a clear physical background it is recommended not to ignore entropy as a fundamental quantity.

Convective-radiative fin with temperature dependent thermal conductivity, heat transfer coefficient and wavelength dependent surface emissivity

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2014
In this paper, we have studied heat transfer process in a continuously moving fin whose thermal conductivity, heat transfer coefficient varies with temperature and surface emissivity varies with temperature and wavelength.

Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...

Study on Mixed Convection Heat Transfer in Vertical Ducts with Radiation Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Experiments have been performed to investigate the radiation effects on mixed convection heat transfer for thermally developing airflow in vertical ducts with two differentially heated isothermal walls and two adiabatic walls. The investigation covers

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...
