A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.

Optimisation of convective heat dissipation from ventilated brake discs [PDF]
Fast heat dissipation from brake discs is sought in current vehicles, where high power braking duties demand harmonic combination of strength, (undamped) disc mass and cooling abilities for a wide speed range.

Velocity‐Tunable Exciton‐Photon Hybridization in Cathodoluminescence
Transition‐radiation resonances in suspended thin crystals hybridise with excitonic transitions under free‐electron excitation. By tuning the electron energy, the photonic resonances are continuously detuned across the exciton states, enabling controllable exciton–photon hybridisation below the diffraction limit without altering the system geometry ...

Heat Transfer through Double-Chamber Glass Unit with Low-Emission Coating
The numerical modeling of radiation and convective heat transfer through a double-chamber glass unit was carried out to substantiate the increase in the heat transfer resistance of this unit via the application of low-emission coatings to glass surfaces.

Controlling Proton Migration in Oxide Heterostructures by Interfacial Chemical Potential Mismatch
Interfacial reconstruction of the proton chemical potential enables control of proton migration in oxide heterostructures. In TiO2/VO2 heterostructures, we found that increasing the TiO2 capping layer thickness by only several nanometers modulates the thermal stability of protons inserted into VO2.

Complex Heat Transfer in Furnaces with a Circulating Fluidized Bed [PDF]
Intensity of heat transfer to screen surfaces in the furnaces with a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) is determined by both radiation and convection of particles.

High Performance Durable Vanadium Dioxide Spectral Selective Modulation Smart Windows
Crystallinity‐enhanced VO2 nanoparticles with a self‐limited amorphous oxidation shell achieve an order of magnitude durability improvement and high spectral selective modulation performance (luminous transmittance of 28.5%, solar modulation of 10.5%, and mid‐infrared emissivity modulation of 0.5) for smart windows.

In this work, we highlight a unique material platform capable of producing three distinct room temperature (RT) photoluminescence (PL) resonances from spatially separated regions composed of a heterobilayer (HBL), a homobilayer (HoBL), and an heterotrilayer (HTL) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) heterostructures configuration on a highly ...
