Radiation Pattern Reconfigurable FM Antenna [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
Abstract In this work, a radiation pattern reconfigurable antenna design using compact printed spiral monopoles that operates at 102 MHz is reported. The proposed antenna changes its radiation behaviour that responds towards a desired direction with the use of RF switches.

The Safety of COVID-19 Vaccinations—We Should Rethink the Policy

open access: yesVaccines, 2021
Background: COVID-19 vaccines have had expedited reviews without sufficient safety data. We wanted to compare risks and benefits. Method: We calculated the number needed to vaccinate (NNTV) from a large Israeli field study to prevent one death.

Deep learning for terahertz image denoising in nondestructive historical document analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Historical documents contain essential information about the past, including places, people, or events. Many of these valuable cultural artifacts cannot be further examined due to aging or external influences, as they are too fragile to be opened or ...

Taguchi-RBF Neural networks Based Optimization of Phased Array Antenna With Coupling Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2023
In the antenna array synthesis problems, most of the works in literature utilize isotropic elements. Thus, the mutual coupling effects between the array elements are neglected.

Dynamic patterns of adaptive radiation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2005
Adaptive radiation is defined as the evolution of ecological and phenotypic diversity within a rapidly multiplying lineage. When it occurs, adaptive radiation typically follows the colonization of a new environment or the establishment of a “key innovation,” which opens new ecological niches and/or new paths for evolution.

Development of exact mathematic models for planar slotted traveling wave antennas using the dyadic Green function and their experiment foundation

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2021
Exact mathematic models were developed for traveling wave antennas with a constant slot width based on the dyadic Green function, taking into account both the main and cross-polarization components of the field in the far radiation zone.

First-principles method for high-$Q$ photonic crystal cavity mode calculations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a first-principles method to compute radiation properties of ultra-high quality factor photonic crystal cavities. Our Frequency-domain Approach for Radiation (FAR) can compute the far-field radiation pattern and quality factor of cavity modes $
