Hot Tub Lung: Misdiagnosed Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis Revealing a Mycobacterial Aetiology—A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
Our case describes chronic daily exposure with histologic detection of rare MAC organisms, illustrating the spectrum and possible coexistence between hypersensitivity and infection, emphasising the diagnostic and therapeutic complexity of this uncommon disease.

Spleen tyrosine kinase inhibition mitigates radiation-induced lung injury through anti-inflammatory effects and downregulation of p38 MAPK and p53

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundTo explore new modulatory intervention targets for radiation-induced lung injury, bioinformatics analysis technology was used to search for the core driving genes in the pathogenesis of radiation pneumonitis, and the results were verified by a ...

Baseline Neutrophil‐To‐Lymphocyte Ratio as a Risk Stratification Marker for Severe Checkpoint Inhibitor Pneumonitis in Patients With Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Two‐Cohort Study With Retrospective Discovery and Prospective Validation

open access: yesRespirology, Volume 31, Issue 9, Page 922-932, September 2026.
The association between baseline neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and severe checkpoint inhibitor pneumonitis (CIP) was analyzed in discovery retrospective and validation prospective cohorts. Higher baseline NLR (≥ 4.75) was associated with increased severe CIP incidence in both cohorts.

Early Radiation-Induced Lung Injury in a Patient with Prior Diagnosis of Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonitis

open access: yes, 2008
This case study is to report the observation that clinically diagnosed radiation pneumonitis (geometrically conforming to the radiation treatment volume) occurred at a subthreshold radiation dose in a patient with a previous history of pathologically ...

Risk Factors of Radiation Pneumonitis in Lung Cancer

open access: yes, 2008
Background/Aims: The clinical syndrome of radiation pneumonitis develops in 5-15% of patients receiving thoracic radiotherapy for lung cancer. Factors that can affect the radiation pneumonitis include concomitant chemotherapy, previous irradiation ...

Validity and Feasibility of the Constant‐Load Cycle Endurance Test in Lung Cancer Patients Undergoing Radiation Therapy

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 17, September 2026.
The constant‐load cycle endurance test (CET) demonstrated feasibility and validity in lung cancer patients undergoing thoracic radiation therapy. CET may provide complementary information to the 6‐min walk test when evaluating rehabilitation outcomes.

Cancer survivorship in malignant melanoma

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, Volume 24, Issue 9, Page e1291-e1308, September 2026.
Summary Robust long‐term survival data have transformed the prognosis of metastatic melanoma. For combination therapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), 10‐year melanoma‐specific survival rates now exceed 50 %, and durable disease control is achievable in a substantial proportion of patients, including those with brain metastases.
