Intelligent Continuum Micromachines in Complex Confined Spaces

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
The cover depicts a conceptual design for an intelligent continuum micromachine entering a target capsule used in fusion‐energy research through its slender gas‐fill tube. By combining route‐adaptive deformation, embedded sensing, and a functional end effector, the robot could inspect hidden defects, assess local conditions, and support localized ...

Bio‐Compatible Flexible Memristive Devices Enabled by BNNT/MWCNT–ZnO Quantum Dot Hybrid Percolation Networks

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
BNNT rods incorporated into MWCNT–ZnO quantum dot networks regulate charge transport and suppress leakage in flexible, transparent resistive memory devices. The resulting hybrid architecture preserves nonvolatile switching under static bending and after low‐temperature exposure and subcutaneous implantation.

Engineering Flexible Nanofibrous Hydroxyapatite Scaffolds With Tunable Degradation and Mechanical Properties for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Conventional hydroxyapatite ceramics are brittle and poorly resorbable, limiting their use in bone repair. To overcome these limitations, flexible scaffolds are fabricated using ceramic nanofibers as structural building blocks. Adjusting nanofiber characteristics allows modulating the mechanical properties and degradation, providing a versatile ...

Dual‐Component Spidroin‐Based Hydrogels: A Mechanically Tunable Platform for 2D and 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A dual‐component recombinant spider silk hydrogel platform was developed by combining NT2RepCT with a bioactive vitronectin‐functionalized spidroin domain. The hydrogels self‐assemble under physiological conditions, exhibit tunable mechanical properties, and support 2D and 3D cell culture, providing a versatile platform for mechanobiological studies ...
