A Gastrointestinal Study on Linear and Non-Linear Quantitative Structure (Chromatographic) Retention Relationships (QSRR) Models for Analysis 5- Aminosalicylates Nano Particles as Digestive System Nano Drugs under Synchrotron Radiations

open access: yes, 2016
The analysis of 5-aminosalicylates nano particles as gastrointestinal and digestive system nano drugs under synchrotron radiations is mainly carried out by Gas Chromatography (GC), making use of their specific Retention Times (RT) which is related to ...

Radiation physics, biophysics, and radiation biology [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The following research programs from the Center for Radiological Research of Columbia University are described: Design and development of a new wall-less ultra miniature proportional counter for nanodosimetry; some recent measurements of ionization distributions for heavy ions at nanometer site sizes with a wall-less proportional counter; a calculation

Molecular imaging predicts trastuzumab‐deruxtecan (T‐DXd) response in head and neck cancer xenograft models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

UV-B Radiations and Secondary Metabolites

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2020
Ultraviolet-B (UV-B: 280 to 320 nm) radiations have appeared to be detrimental to plants, due to their damaging effects on proteins, lipids, membranes and DNA. UV-B radiations are a significant regulator of plants’ secondary metabolites.

A Pharmacovigilance Study on Linear and Nonlinear QuantitativeStructure (Chromatographic) Retention Relationships (QSRR) Models forthe Prediction of Retention Time of Anticancer Nano Drugs underSynchrotron Radiations

open access: yes, 2016
Linear and non-linear Quantitative Structure (Chromatographic) Retention Relationships (QSRR) models for the prediction of retention time of anti-cancer Nano drugs under synchrotron radiations (Figures 1 and 2) were developed based on a diverse dataset ...

Multispecies Outcomes of Sympatric Speciation after Admixture with the Source Population in Two Radiations of Nicaraguan Crater Lake Cichlids

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2016
The formation of species in the absence of geographic barriers (i.e. sympatric speciation) remains one of the most controversial topics in evolutionary biology.

The Pressure of Radiation [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1913
WITH reference to my letter on this subject in NATURE of December 18, the majority of my correspondents complain that, although I may have indicated the possibility of my own view, I have not shown why the simpler relation, that the pressure is always one-third of the energy density, is untenable. As I cannot reply to each individually, I shall be glad

The subcellular distribution of phosphorylated Y‐box‐binding protein‐1 at S102 in colorectal cancer patients, stratified by KRAS mutational status and clinicopathological features

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies nuclear YB‐1 S102 phosphorylation as a marker associated with KRAS and FBXW7 mutations in colorectal cancer. Mutated KRAS correlates specifically with nuclear, not cytoplasmic, S102 YB‐1. These findings provide the first ex vivo evidence of this link in CRC and suggest future studies should assess the prognostic and therapeutic ...

Controlling Energy Radiations of Electromagnetic Waves via Frequency Coding Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvancement of science, 2017
Metamaterials are artificial structures composed of subwavelength unit cells to control electromagnetic (EM) waves. The spatial coding representation of metamaterial has the ability to describe the material in a digital way.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.
