Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

A simple temperature calculating method of flame tube inclined multi-hole wall
Inclined multi-hole full-coverage film cooling, as a practical cooling scheme, has received widespread application in combustion chambers. In the initial stage of combustion chamber design, the numerical simulation of three-dimensional structure is a ...

Proximity effects in radiative heat transfer
Though the dependence of near-field radiative transfer on the gap between two planar objects is well understood, that between curved objects is still unclear. We show unequivocally that the surface polariton mediated radiative transfer between two spheres of equal radii R and minimum gap d scales as R/d as the nondimensional gap d/R→0.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Ultralow radiative heat flux by Anderson localization in quasiperiodic plasmonic chains
Anderson localization, arising from wave interference in disordered systems, profoundly hinders energy transport, yet its impact on radiative heat flux in many-body thermophotonic systems remains unclear.

A review is presented of how heat transfer takes place in plasma-sprayed (zirconia-based) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) during operation of gas turbines. These characteristics of TBCs are naturally of central importance to their function. Current state-

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...
