Effects of baffle on separated convection step flow of radiating gas in a duct [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2015
In this paper, the effects of baffle on thermal characteristics of combined convection-radiation heat transfer in laminar flow adjacent to an inclined backward facing step (BFS) in a horizontal duct are investigated.

Absorption of Short-Pulsed Laser Radiation in Superficial Human Tissues: Transient Vs Quasi-Steady Radiative Transfer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Transient radiative transfer effects are pertinent to thermal treatment of superficial cancer via short-pulsed laser irradiation. The transient effects become particularly important due to relatively strong scattering and long attenuation path of ...

Algorithms of parallel computing for radiative-conductive heat transfer problems [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2012
The problems of radiative-conductive heat transfer in the scattering layer are considered. They consist in finding the temperature profile and improving the heat transfer from boundaries. For their solution the Monte Carlo method is used.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Regulation of near-field radiative heat transfer between two-dimensional borophene sheets under uniaxial strain based on first-principles calculations

open access: yesFrontiers in Thermal Engineering
This study investigates the near field radiative heat transfer (NFRHT) regulation behavior of χ3-phase two-dimensional borophene (Bχ3) sheets under uniaxial strain, based on first-principles calculations and fluctuation-dissipation theory.
