Determination of Radiative Thermal Conductivity in Needlepunched Nonwovens [PDF]
Radiation heat transfer is found to be the dominant mode of heat transfer at temperatures higher than 400-500K [11]. Convection heat transfer being negligible in nonwovens, effective thermal conductivity is given by the sum of its conduction and ...

A near-field radiative heat transfer device [PDF]
Recently, many works have experimentally demonstrated near-field radiative heat transfer (NFRHT) exceeding the far-field blackbody limit between planar surfaces. Due to the difficulties associated with maintaining the nanosize gaps required for measuring a near-field enhancement, these demonstrations have been limited to experiments that cannot be ...

Linear response relations in fluctuational electrodynamics
Near field radiative heat transfer and dynamic Casimir forces are just two instances of topics of technological and fundamental interest studied via the formalism of fluctuational electrodynamics. From the perspective of experiment and simulations, it is

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

We present the numerical simulation, using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, of the radiative heat transfer between two thin SiC slabs. We aim to explore the ability of the FDTD method to reproduce the analytical results for the Surface ...

Similarity of temperature and concentration field in Poiseuille–Benard channel flow [PDF]
A flow over hot water film in horizontal channel (Poiseuille–Benard flow) is studied experimentally and by means of CFD. Averaged temperature and concentration fields were measured in central transverse plane using RTD and capacitive humidity probe for ...

This study investigates thermo‐chemical processes during high‐temperature testing of two commercial MgO‐C brick grades, one containing 47.5 wt.% MgO‐C recyclate. Using ETV, DTA/TG‐MS, XRD, and SEM/EDS/EBSD, mechanisms such as carbothermal reduction of magnesia, impurity incorporation into the secondary MgO surface layer, and calcium‐rich phase ...
