An effector subset of TRM, defined as CD49a+PD1hi CD8+ TRM, represents a BHLHE40‐orchestrated resident immune component that, rather than circulating cells, plays as a major contributor to allograft rejection. ABSTRACT Tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRM), which function against tumors, infections, and non‐self antigens in organ transplantation ...

Comparison of Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy with Open Radical Nephrectomy
Purpose: Laparoscopic surgery has become the standard surgical method within the urological community. This study was undertaken to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a standard laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) compared to an open radical nephrectomy (ORN) at a single medical center.

A modified heterotopic heart transplantation (HTx) in rats was reported to improve the surgical success rate, in which the donor's vessels, the brachiocephalic trunk (BT) and the pulmonary artery (PA), were sutured to the recipient's left renal artery (RA) and left renal vein (RV).

The Alternative to Laparoendoscopic Single-Site Surgery: Small Strategic Laparoscopic Incision Placement (SLIP) Nephrectomy Improves Cosmesis Without Technical Restrictions [PDF]

Construction of Chronic Kidney Disease Mouse Model Induced by Diets With Different Adenine Content
By administering a 4 weeks adenine diet to C57BL/6J mice, we identified 0.2% adenine in purified feed as the optimal chronic kidney disease model. This model induces severe renal damage, gut dysbiosis, uremic toxin accumulation, and CKD mineral bone disorder, providing a clinically relevant platform for mechanistic and therapeutic studies.

Novel Use of Folate-Targeted Intraoperative Fluorescence, OTL38, in Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy: Report of the First Three Cases [PDF]
Partial nephrectomy is now the preferred surgical option for small renal tumors because it allows nephron preservation without compromising oncologic clearance.

What's New? The combination of ipilimumab and nivolumab as a first‐line treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma has demonstrated durable response and tolerability in clinical trials. However, inclusion criteria for clinical studies are restrictive, and patients in the real‐world setting tend to have more comorbidities.
