When is a radical not a radical?

It is not commonly realised that symmetrical Fe(III) complexes are expected to have EPR spectra dominated by a symmetrical narrow line close to the free-spin g-value. The aim of this note is to stress that such features can be mistakenly identified as the spectra for stable organic radicals.

How Radical is Radical? Heterodoxy and the Paris Radical Aristotelians

This article assesses how we might identify what constituted a radical philosopher in the faith-reason controversy in Paris of the 1270s. It considers radicality in the forms of being uncompromising about philosophical method and of holding conclusions opposing faith, the latter potentially being heresy.
