The Highest Redshift Relativistic Jets [PDF]
We describe our efforts to understand large-scale (10's-100's kpc) relativistic jet systems through observations of the highest-redshift quasars. Results from a VLA survey search for radio jets in ~30 z>3.4 quasars are described along with new Chandra ...

Acceleration of Ultra-high-energy Cosmic Rays in the Kiloparsec-scale Jets of Nearby Radio Galaxies
Radio galaxies have long been considered as potential sources of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays (UHECRs). Recent analyses of the UHECR spectrum, composition, and arrival directions indicate that the nearest radio galaxy, Centaurus A, could be linked to ...

Large-scale radio bubbles around the black hole transient V4641 Sgr
Context. Black holes (BHs) in microquasars can launch powerful relativistic jets that have the capacity to travel up to several parsecs from the compact object and interact with the interstellar medium.

Deep Chandra and multicolor HST observations of the jets of 3C 371 and PKS 2201+044
This paper presents multiwavelength imaging and broad-band spectroscopy of the relativistic jets in the two nearby radio galaxies 3C 371 and PKS 2201+044, acquired with Chandra, HST, VLA, and Merlin. Radio polarization images are also available.

A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

The Origin of X-shaped Radio Galaxies: Clues from the Z-symmetric Secondary Lobes
Existing radio images of a few X-shaped radio galaxies reveal Z-symmetric morphologies in their weaker secondary lobes which cannot be naturally explained by either the galactic merger or radio-lobe backflow scenarios, the two dominant models for these X-

This study reports the fabrication of MRI‐compatible elastomeric micro‐balloons via a multi‐step bubble casting process, where the monolithic elastomeric wall is selectively stiffened for reversible and controlled inflation and elasticity, depending on the target vessels for graded occlusion of cerebral arteries.

Bent Jets in Radio Quasars [PDF]
How is energy transported out from the central engine in quasars and radio galaxies to the distant radio lobes? This problem has been around since the early discovery of classical double radio sources, and is still not answered in detail. The idea of relativistic beams was first suggested by Martin Rees as a means of transporting plasma out of the ...
