Investigating Differences in the Palomar-Green Blazar Population Using Polarization

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present polarization images with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) in A- and B-array configurations at 6 GHz of seven radio-loud (RL) quasars and eight BL Lac objects belonging to the Palomar-Green (PG) “blazar” sample.

Hydrostatic confinement of radio jets

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1987
The radio jets associated with NGC 6251, NGC 315, and 3C 31 are subjected to hydrodynamic detachment criteria in the ultrarelativistic and nonrelativistic limits under the assumption of the steady laminar motion of a perfect gas. All the jets demonstrate allowable sonic heights.

Influence of Jets on [O iii] Extensions in Green Pea/Bean Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a study investigating the influence of jets on galaxies exhibiting strong [O iii ] λ 5007 emission, known as Green Peas and Green Beans . Our sample comprised 12 nearby sources ( z ∼ 0.04–0.1, six with jets and six without jets) with high [O ...

Mid-Infrared Properties of Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies Detected by LoTSS DR2 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s), a subclass of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) at early stage of accretion process, are also found to host relativistic jets. However, currently known jetted NLS1s are rare. The majority of NLS1s are undetected at radio band. The radio detection rate of NLS1s raises with the LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS), which

On the Connection of Radio and γ-Ray Emission in Blazars

open access: yesGalaxies, 2018
Blazars are a sub-category of radio-loud active galactic nuclei with relativistic jets pointing towards to the observer. They are well-known for their non-thermal variable emission, which practically extends over the whole electromagnetic spectrum ...

The curvature of radio jets and tails in the intracluster media of Abell 1446 and 2220

open access: yes, 1982
Einstein Observatory X-ray observations are reported for two rich clusters which contain prominent tailed radio galaxies. These X-ray data are used as probes of the cluster gas to explore mechanisms which may distort radio jets and tails.

Radio follow-up observations of stellar tidal disruption flares: Constraints on off-axis jets

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
Observations of active galactic nuclei (AGN) and X-ray binaries have shown that relativistic jets are ubiquitous when compact objects accrete. One could therefore anticipate the launch of a jet after a star is disrupted and accreted by a massive black ...
