Optimization-Based Wi-Fi Radio Map Construction for Indoor Positioning Using Only Smart Phones [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Fingerprinting-based Wi-Fi indoor positioning has great potential for positioning in GPS-denied areas. However, establishing a fingerprinting map (also called a radio map) prior to positioning (site survey) is normally a labor-intensive task.

A Radio-Map Automatic Construction Algorithm Based on Crowdsourcing [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2016
Traditional radio-map-based localization methods need to sample a large number of location fingerprints offline, which requires huge amount of human and material resources.

On the Construction of Radio Environment Maps for Cognitive Radio Networks [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2013
The Radio Environment Map (REM) provides an effective approach to Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) in Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs). Previous results on REM construction show that there exists a tradeoff between the number of measurements (sensors) and ...

Radio Map Framework for GSM Positioning [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications, 2009
This paper introduces radio map framework for creation of GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) network radio maps. These radio maps are structured in the way that they can be utilized later on as a data source for fingerprinting-based ...

Space-Frequency-Interpolated Radio Map [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2021
This paper presents a novel method for radio map construction that simultaneously interpolates the received signal power values over space and frequency domains. Radio maps can be used to improve spectrum management and for localization systems, which are related to wireless systems in general such as cellular systems, Internet of Things (IoT) networks,

Radio Mapping [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1988
The mapping discussed in this paper is based on observations obtained from the 21–cm emission line of neutral atomic hydrogen. We will give an overview of the existing large surveys and present a homogeneous datacube that contains the most important surveys.

Radio map generation approaches for an RSSI-based indoor positioning system

open access: yesSystems and Soft Computing, 2023
The use of Radio map fingerprinting, which relies on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), is a popular indoor positioning method that offers high accuracy and cost-effective deployment.

Optical–Radio Mapping: the Kinetic Efficiency of Radio‐Loud AGNs [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2008
We constrain the mean kinetic efficiency of radio-loud active galactic nuclei by using an optically selected sample for which both the optical and the radio luminosity functions (LFs) have been determined; the former traces the bolometric luminosity L, while the latter traces the kinetic power L_k, empirically correlated to the radio emission.
