The Characteristics of (Normal) Pulsars [PDF]
Pulsars have now been studied for 34 years. We know of the existence of some 1500 objects at radio frequencies. Many of the characteristics of pulsars such as pulsar period, period derivative, spectrum, polarization, etc., have been catalogued for many ...

A compressed sensing (CS)‐based feature selection method is proposed to select the most informative elements in the radiomic features extracted from medical images of personalized ultra‐fractionated stereotactic adaptive treatment. The CS‐based approach is able to simplify the feature selection process and enhance the accuracy and robustness of a ...

The Emission Geometry of Pulsars with Interpulses
We present polarization profiles of 23 pulsars exhibiting interpulse (IP) emissions using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope. By applying the rotating vector model (RVM), we measured the inclination and impact angles for 16 pulsars,

Birth and Evolution of Isolated Radio Pulsars
We investigate the birth and evolution of Galactic isolated radio pulsars. We begin by estimating their birth space velocity distribution from proper motion measurements of Brisken et al. (2002, 2003).

Translational Remodeling of the Synaptic Proteome During Aging
Aging induces a decoupling of protein regulation between the soma and the synapse. In particular, transcripts coding for ribosomal proteins decrease and their corresponding proteins increase in the synapse while the opposite happens in the soma. At the same time, synapse‐specific regulation of splicing takes place.

Radio pulsars: already fifty years! [PDF]
Abstract Although fifty years have passed since the discovery of radio pulsars, there is still no satisfactory understanding of how these amazing objects operate. While there has been significant progress in understanding the basic properties of radio pulsars, there is as yet no consensus on key issues, such as the nature of coherent ...

The AO327 Drift Survey Catalog and Data Release of Pulsar Detections
The AO327 drift survey for radio pulsars and transients used the Arecibo telescope from 2010 until its collapse in 2020. AO327 collected ∼3100 hr of data at 327 MHz with a time resolution of 82 μ s and a frequency resolution of 24 kHz.

ABSTRACT Humanity seems stuck on different ways to fail to meet the challenge posed by a declared climate emergency and manifest problems of ecological breakdown. Rather than reprise these failures, we use the Fermi Paradox and simulation hypothesis to make a simple point about agency. The argument unfolds in two sections.
