Radio Frequency Nonionizing Radiation in a Community Exposed to Radio and Television Broadcasting

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 2006
Exposure to radio frequency (RF) nonionizing radiation from telecommunications is pervasive in modern society. Elevated disease risks have been observed in some populations exposed to radio and television transmissions, although findings are inconsistent.

Generation of radio frequency radiation by femtosecond filaments [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2021
Recent experiments have shown that femtosecond filamentation plasmas generate ultra-broadband radio frequency radiation (RF). We show that a combination of plasma dynamics is responsible for the RF: a plasma wake field develops behind the laser pulse, and this wake excites (and copropagates with) a surface wave on the plasma column.

Prospects and challenges of numerical modeling of the Sun at millimeter wavelengths

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) offers new diagnostic possibilities that complement other commonly used diagnostics for the study of the Sun.

Multi-Periodicity of High-Frequency Type III Bursts as a Signature of the Fragmented Magnetic Reconnection

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
Using the radio spectra of the 2 April 2022 eruptive flare, we analyze a group of highfrequency type III bursts by our new wavelet method. In this analysis, we found a multi-periodicity of these bursts that is interpreted by the electron beams ...

An ALMA Observation of Time Variations in Chromospheric Temperature of a Solar Plage Region

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
Nanoflares and the shock formation of magnetohydrodynamic waves in the solar chromosphere have been considered as key physical mechanisms of the heating of the chromosphere and corona.

Diffuse Josephson Radiation in Turbulence

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
The possibility of generating diffuse radiation in extended astronomical media by plasma turbulence is investigated under the assumption that the turbulence can be understood as an ensemble of small-scale magnetic filaments (narrow current sheets ...

Two Successive Type II Radio Bursts Associated With B-Class Flares and Slow CMEs

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2020
From 2018 Oct 12 to 13, three successive solar eruptions (E1–E3) with B-class flares and poor white light coronal mass ejections (CMEs) occurred from the same active region NOAA AR 12724. Interestingly, the first two eruptions are associated with Type II

RESULTS OF JOINT OBSERVATIONS WITH SOLAR SPECTROPOLARIMETER OF METER RANGE WAVELENGTHS AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2022
Solar radiation is emitted in the wide frequency range from gamma to radio emission. Hence, joint observations from different instruments and frequency ranges let us to complete full representation of the evolution of solar events and confirm ...

Fluctuations in Cosmic Radiation at Radio-Frequencies [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1946
In a previous publication1 we described the results of an investigation into the spatial distribution of cosmic electromagnetic noise radiation at 5 metres wave-length. We have recently been engaged in an attempt to make a more detailed determination by using a more sensitive receiver of narrower beam-width. An interesting new feature which has emerged
