MUOS radio resource management algorithms

MILCOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2008
The mobile user objective system (MUOS) is a next generation military satellite communication system based on the terrestrial 3GPP WCDMA (3rd generation partnership project - wideband code division multiple access) waveform. In any CDMA system, efficient radio resource management (RRM) algorithms are used to assign users to active cells, beams ...

Radio Resource Management for V2V Discovery

2017 IEEE 85th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2017
One of the challenges of direct vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication is to find efficient radio resource management (RRM) strategies that can fulfil the requirements even with high traffic density. In cellular networks, a device-to-device (D2D) communication is usually split into two phases: the discovery process, for node awareness of each other ...

QoE Prediction for Radio Resource Management

2011
In this paper, we introduce a monitoring tool which measures application-specific parameters. These parameters are used to predict the QoE and to perform resource management based on QoE thresholds. We demonstrate the tool for YouTube traffic in an IEEE 802.11 mesh network.

Elastic Game Based Radio Resource Management

2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2012
With the abundance of diverse air interfaces in the same operating area, a mobile user is able to connect concurrently to different wireless access networks in order to meet more easily its target performance. In this paper, we consider the downlink of a multi-class hybrid network with two Radio Access Technologies (RAT): WiMAX and WiFi.

WiFi radio resource management

2018

Radio Resource Management in Convergence Technologies

2007
Today we find a large number of wireless networks based on different radio access technologies (RATs) and standards. Furthermore, new RATs will be developed to complement those that exist already today. Each RAT will have its strengths and weaknesses with respect to capacity, cost, achievable data rates, and support for end user mobility.

Radio Resource Management for V2V Discovery

2016
Big expectations are put into vehicularcommunications (V2X) for a safer and more intelligent driving. With human lives at risk, the system cannot afford to fail, whichtranslates into very stringent reliability and latencyrequirements to the radio network.

Radio resource management for OFDMA uplinks

2007 IEEE Sarnoff Symposium, 2007
The next generation of wireless networks (4G) will use OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) in the reverse link. In OFDMA, the reverse link resources assigned to a user are called tiles each of which consists of a subset of consecutive subcarriers.

Radio Resource Management in Wireless Networks

2017
Do you need to design efficient wireless communications systems? This unique text provides detailed coverage of radio resource allocation problems in wireless networks and the techniques that can be used to solve them. Covering basic principles and mathematical algorithms, and with a particular focus on power control and channel allocation, you will ...

Radio Resource Management in WiMAX Networks

2010
This chapter presents the general Radio Resource Management (RRM) problem in wireless access networks and gives performance evaluations for different downlink resource (sub-carrier) allocation algorithms in WiMAX TDD systems based on OFDMA wireless access.
