VARIABLE AND TRANSIENT RADIO SOURCES IN THE FIRST SURVEY [PDF]
A comprehensive search for variable and transient radio sources has been conducted using ~55,000 snapshot images of the FIRST survey. We present an analysis leading to the discovery of 1,627 variable and transient objects down to mJy levels over a wide range of timescales (few minutes to years).

Radio variable and transient sources on minute time-scales in the ASKAP pilot surveys
ABSTRACT We present results from a radio survey for variable and transient sources on 15-min time-scales, using the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) pilot surveys. The pilot surveys consist of 505 h of observations conducted at around 1 GHz observing frequency, with a total sky coverage of 1476 deg2.

Identifying transient and variable sources in radio images [PDF]
With the arrival of a number of wide-field snapshot image-plane radio transient surveys, there will be a huge influx of images in the coming years making it impossible to manually analyse the datasets. Automated pipelines to process the information stored in the images are being developed, such as the LOFAR Transients Pipeline, outputting light curves ...

Simultaneous Localization of Multiple Unknown and Transient Radio Sources Using a Mobile Robot [PDF]
We report system and algorithm developments that utilize a single mobile robot to simultaneously localize multiple unknown transient radio sources. Because of signal source anonymity, short transmission durations, and dynamic transmission patterns, the robot cannot treat the radio sources as continuous radio beacons.

ABSTRACT Many transient and variable sources detected at multiple wavelengths are also observed to vary at radio frequencies. However, these samples are typically biased towards sources that are initially detected in wide-field optical, X-ray, or gamma-ray surveys.

Cooperative Search of Multiple Unknown Transient Radio Sources Using Multiple Paired Mobile Robots [PDF]
We develop a localization method to enable a team of mobile robots to search for multiple unknown transient radio sources. Because of signal source anonymity, short transmission durations, and dynamic transmission patterns, robots cannot treat the radio sources as continuous radio beacons.

We have surveyed 1.4GHz transient radio sources in Nasu Pulsar Observatory. To investigate such sources, both immediacy and accuracy are severely maintained. We have developed Data Transfer System and improved antenna control system. Now we have received the fringe data from transient radio source candidates.

A radio survey of supersoft, persistent and transient X-ray sources in the Magellanic Clouds [PDF]
We present a radio survey of X-ray sources in the Large and Small Magellanic clouds with the Australia Telescope Compact Array at 6.3 and 3.5 cm. Specifically, we have observed the fields of five LMC and two SMC supersoft X-ray sources, the X-ray binaries LMC X-1, X-2, X-3 & X-4, the X-ray transient Nova SMC 1992, and the soft gamma-ray repeater ...

A large number of fast radio bursts (FRBs) detected with the CHIME telescope have enabled investigations of their energy distributions in different redshift intervals, incorporating the consideration of the selection effects of CHIME. As a result, we obtained a non-evolving energy function (EF) for the high-energy FRBs (HEFRBs) of energies E ≳ 2 × 1038

ABSTRACT Transient surveys are a vital tool in exploring the dynamic Universe, with radio transients acting as beacons for explosive and highly energetic astrophysical phenomena. However, performing commensal transient surveys using radio imaging can require a significant amount of computing power, data storage, and time.
