A large number of fast radio bursts (FRBs) detected with the CHIME telescope have enabled investigations of their energy distributions in different redshift intervals, incorporating the consideration of the selection effects of CHIME. As a result, we obtained a non-evolving energy function (EF) for the high-energy FRBs (HEFRBs) of energies E ≳ 2 × 1038

A group sparsity imaging algorithm for transient radio sources
Astronomy and Computing, 2013Abstract Radio interferometers can achieve high spatial resolution for temporally constant sources by combining data observed over long periods of time. Recent imaging algorithms reconstruct smoothly varying sources by representing temporal variation in polynomial or Fourier bases.

A radio survey of supersoft, persistent and transient X-ray sources in the Magellanic Clouds [PDF]
We present a radio survey of X-ray sources in the Large and Small Magellanic clouds with the Australia Telescope Compact Array at 6.3 and 3.5 cm. Specifically, we have observed the fields of five LMC and two SMC supersoft X-ray sources, the X-ray binaries LMC X-1, X-2, X-3 & X-4, the X-ray transient Nova SMC 1992, and the soft gamma-ray repeater ...

ABSTRACT Transient surveys are a vital tool in exploring the dynamic Universe, with radio transients acting as beacons for explosive and highly energetic astrophysical phenomena. However, performing commensal transient surveys using radio imaging can require a significant amount of computing power, data storage, and time.

Transient radio source near the galactic centre
Nature, 1976A VARIETY of interesting objects have been discovered in recent years within several arc min of the galactic centre. These include the main (east and west)1 components of the radio source Sgr A, a compact radio source2 at the centre of Sgr A West which may be the galactic nucleus, and a group of infrared sources3 in a region of ∼ 20″ diameter ...

A Transient Radio Source near the Center of the Milky Way Galaxy
Science, 1992In late December 1990, a new radio source appeared near the center of our galaxy rivaling the intensity of Sgr A * (the compact radio source at the galactic center). Following its first detection, the flux density of the galactic center transient (GCT) increased rapidly to a maximum 1 month later, and then declined ...

Transient nature of radio source NVSS J1957+35
Advances in Space Research, 2019Abstract We have searched for transient and variable radio sources in the field of Galactic micro-quasar Cygnus X-1 near 1.4 GHz (L band) using data from the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array. We used twenty years of data between 1983 and 2003. We found a source NVSS J1957+35 showing transient behavior. The source was also mentioned earlier in NVSS and

In the paper we present the results of search for transient sources using the data from the surveys conducted onRATAN-600 at 7.6 cmin the time period of 1980–1994.We detected three events at a level of 3–5σ. A search for coincidenceswith detected transient events was carried out. Using the data from radio and optical surveys and the VizieR, SIMBAD, and

Radio Observations of Transient Gamma Ray Sources with the Westerbork Array
1994Two γ-ray bursts have been rapidly imaged by COMPTEL (within ~ 6 hours of their occurrence) and their error boxes searched by Westerbork for evidence of a fading counterpart at radio wavelengths. These searches have revealed no likely candidate counterparts to the bursts.

We report our system and algorithm developments that enable a single mobile robot equipped with a directional antenna to simultaneously localize multiple unknown transient radio sources. Due to signal source anonymity, short transmission durations, and dynamic transmission patterns, the robot cannot treat the radio sources as continuous radio beacons ...
