The selective degradation of PDE4B shortform, using a PROTAC, leads to inhibition of several hallmarks of cancer in HCT116 cells

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 18, Page 5516-5540, September 2026.
Background and Purpose Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide, and novel precision medicine approaches are rapidly improving patient outcomes. Phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B) is a member of an enzyme family (PDE4) that hydrolyses intracellular cAMP to control spatial and temporal signalling cues.

Changes in photosynthesis and grazing facilitate growth of a mixotrophic protist under ocean acidification and warming

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2574-2587, September 2026.
Grazing rates of Ochromonas CCMP2951 expressed as carbon obtained per mean cell volume (a) and Caut/het‐photosynthetically fixed carbon divided by carbon obtained through grazing (b) in the four experimental treatments. Summary Mixotrophic protists capable of both photosynthesis and phagotrophy are key members of marine plankton communities.

Chelator Free Radiolabeling and Preclinical Evaluation of η6‐Arene Sandwich Complexes of Lenalidomide With Rhenium and Technetium‐99m

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
Direct, chelator‐free radiolabeling of lenalidomide is achieved via η6‐arene coordination to technetium‐99m and rhenium, forming sandwich complexes. The radiotracer shows rapid blood clearance, predominant renal excretion, and good in vivo stability, highlighting its potential as a pharmacokinetic probe.

Sugar Amino Acid Linkers for the Design of [18F]SiFA‐PSMA Radioligands

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Sugar amino acid (SAA) linkers were incorporated into silicon‐fluoride‐acceptor (SiFA)‐prostate‐specific membrane antigen (PSMA) radioligands to modulate pharmacokinetic properties while preserving efficient 18F isotopic exchange radiolabeling. Furanose‐based SAAs outperformed pyranose analogues, enabling specific tumor visualization by PET despite ...
