Design of an on-line monitoring system for radioactive wastewater
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2017An on-line monitoring system for radioactive wastewater was designed to discriminate the type and concentration of the radionuclides discharged from nuclear facilities. An HPGe semiconductor was used as the detector in the system for continuous monitoring by pumping wastewater.

A membrane filtration device was prepared, and its stability under different seasonal conditions typical of northern China was studied. Strontium removal efficiency was investigated and membrane filtration mechanism was determined. At 12 °C strontium removal efficiency was the best and the highest decontamination factor was 942.

An isotope dilution–precipitation process for removing radioactive cesium from wastewater
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2012A novel isotope dilution-precipitation method has been developed to remove cesium-137 from radioactive wastewater. The process involves adding stable cesium chloride to wastewater in order to raise the total cesium concentration, which then allows both the stable and radioactive cesium ions to be precipitated together using sodium tetraphenylborate ...

This article discusses two processes that are being considered for use at the Australian Atomic Energy Commission Research Establishment at Lucas Heights, New South Wales, to decontaminate low‐level radioactive aqueous effluent in a sludge blanket clarifier. They are the calcium‐ ferric phosphate process, and the aluminum hydroxide process.

Innovation in radioactive wastewater-stream management: Part one
International Journal of Nuclear Energy Science and Technology, 2005Treatment of radioactive wastewater streams is receiving considerable attention in most countries that have nuclear reactors. The first Egyptian research reactor ETRR-1 has been operating for 40 years, resulting in accumulation of large quantities of wastewater collected in special drainage tanks called SDTs.
