Use of radioactive substances in diagnosis and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors [PDF]

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2015
Radionuclides are needed both for nuclear medicine imaging as well as for peptide-receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) of neuroendocrine tumors (NET). Imaging is important in the initial diagnostic work-up and for staging NETs. In therapy planning, somatostatin receptor imaging (SRI) is used when treatment is targeted at the somatostatin receptors as ...

Inhibiting cGAS‐STING to Preserve Mitochondrial–Nuclear Communication and Stemness in Young Tendon Stem Cells: A Hydrogel Strategy against Age‐Related Tendinopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐targeting strategy to rejuvenate aged tendons. A reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐responsive hydrogel co‐delivers a selenium nanozyme (scavenges ROS) and a STING inhibitor to tendon stem cells. This combined action restores mitochondria–nucleus communication, alleviates cellular senescence, and rejuvenates tendon regeneration, offering a novel ...

Analysis of the Radiopollution of the City of Sarajevo and its Surrounding Area with Regard to Radionuclides [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2009
In recent years, great attention has been focused on the research of problems related to the environment and processes occurring within it. The accident that occurred at Nuclear Power Plant in Chernobyl (1986) unquestionably warned that global pollution ...

Sketches on history of studying radioactivity and formation of uranium geology in the Central Siberia. Sketch one. Beginnings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The history of studying radioactivity and the radioactive elements has already numbered more than one hundred years. In the beginning of XX century interest to uranium was defined, first of all, by cost of its radioactive product - radium, which, at the ...

Mapping CSC‐Mediated Ovarian Cancer Chemoresistance via CXCR4‐PET to Guide Precision Cisplatin Re‐Sensitization Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CXCR4 functions as a potential cancer stem cell‐associated marker linked to chemoresistance in ovarian cancer, and an inhibitor of CXCR4, AMD3100, can enhance the cytotoxic response to cisplatin. Based on these findings, [68Ga]Ga‐Pentixafor positron emission tomography enables selective visualization of CXCR4‐high ovarian cancer, while AMD3100 combined

Nanomedicine Meets Immunotherapy: Advancing Adoptive Cell Therapy with Nanoparticles in the Treatment of Cancer with Sustainability Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review surveys nanoparticle‐based strategies to enhance adoptive cell therapy, particularly CAR‐T cell approaches, in solid tumor treatment. It describes how nanoparticles can improve tumor immunogenicity and T‐cell infiltration while reducing toxicity, and how they enable in vivo CAR‐T cell generation.

Radiocaesium in the fungal compartment of forest ecosystems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Fungi in forest ecosystems are major contributors to accumulation and cycling of radionuclides, especially radiocaesium. However, relatively little is known about uptake and retention of 137Cs by fungal mycelia.

Photonuclear Population of 229m,gTh in Th‐Doped Crystals Toward Nuclear Clock Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a novel photonuclear approach for producing the nuclear clock isomer 229mTh in thorium‐doped crystals, overcoming current supply limitations. Through cross‐section calculations and Monte Carlo simulations, we identify optimal crystal materials and irradiation conditions, achieving high signal‐to‐noise ratios.
