The development of a radioallergosorbent test (RAST) for murine IgE antibodies

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1980
A purified monoclonal IgE preparation, isolated from the ascitic fluid of mice bearing a hybridoma secreting IgE with specificity to ovalbumin, was used for the production of goat anti-murine IgE (GAME) antiserum, which was then rendered monospecific for the epsilon chain.

The radioallergosorbent test (RAST) for the serological diagnosis of human anisakiasis

Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1985
The serum of patients with parasitologically confirmed and one patient with a clinically presumptive case of anisakiasis were tested by the radioallergosorbent test (RAST) and counter-electrophoresis (CEP) for IgE and IgG antibodies, respectively, using antigens prepared from larval (L3) stage Anisakis simplex and larval (L2) stage Toxocara canis.

An approach to fungal antigen relationships by radioallergosorbent test inhibition

Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 1981
Antigenic relationships among three species of Aspergillus (A. fumigatus, A. glaucus, and A. flavus) were examined by paired cross-radioallergosorbent test (RAST) inhibition analysis, an in vitro technique based on human IgE antibody specificity. Alternaria tenuis was found to be antigenically unrelated to each of the three species of Aspergillus and ...

Detection of IgG antibody to deoxyribonucleic acid by the radioallergosorbent test

Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 1975
IgG antibodies to heat-denatured calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) single-stranded DNA:ss-DNA) in the sera of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) could be detected by means of solid-phase radioimmunoassay. Single-stranded DNA coupled covalently to microcrystalline cellulose and 125I-labeled anti-human gamma chain were used for this ...

Agreement between radioallergosorbent test and skin test.

Annals of allergy, 1977
A total of 4,260 RAST results were compared with the same number of prick and intracutaneous skin test results. Intracutaneous test was done only when the prick test was negative. The mean agreement between positive RAST and positive prick test was 81.3% for five grasses, 45.1% for seven weeds, 42.2% for two trees, 42.6% for two molds, and 45.8% for ...

Predictability of the radioallergosorbent test (RAST) in ragweed pollenosis.

The American review of respiratory disease, 1975
The radioallergosorbent test was compared with currently accepted allergy diagnostic techniques in ragweed-sensitive and unselected patients. The radioallergosorbent test was positive in 28 of 30 patients with proved histories, positive scratch tests, and positive nasal provation tests to ragweed.
