Radiofrequency Exposure Levels in Greece

Bioelectromagnetics, 2023
Medical Physics Department (Medical School, University of Thessaly) participated in a Greek National EMF research program (EDBM34) with the scope to measure and evaluate radiofrequency (RF) exposure (27–3000 MHz) in areas of sensitive land use. A thousand (1000) measurements were carried out at two “metropolitan locations” (Athens and Thessaloniki: 624

Radiofrequency Exposure in Greek Indoor Environments

Health Physics, 2013
This is the first measurement campaign that takes place in Greece in order to assess the exposure levels in different microenvironments (offices, bedrooms, living rooms, schools). Due to the exponential growth in the use of wireless network devices, the aim of this work was to perform indoor measurements with the use of personal dosimeters.

Radiofrequency Exposure and Human Health

PIERS Online, 2007
Research on the biological and health efiects of radiofrequency (RF) flelds has been conducted for more than 50 years and the RF database available in the 1990's proved adequate for the development of the human exposure limits recommended in 1998 by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) (1).

Assessment of occupational exposure to radiofrequency fields and radiation

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2004
The use of personal monitors for the assessment of exposure to radiofrequency fields and radiation in potential future epidemiological studies of occupationally exposed populations has been investigated. Data loggers have been developed for use with a commercially available personal monitor and these allowed personal exposure records consisting of time-

Radiofrequency-electromagnetic field exposures in kindergarten children

Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology, 2016
The aim of this study was to assess environmental and personal radiofrequency-electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) exposures in kindergarten children. Ten children and 20 kindergartens in Melbourne, Australia participated in personal and environmental exposure measurements, respectively.

Near-field radiofrequency electromagnetic exposure assessment

Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine, 2015
Personal wireless telecommunication devices, such as radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic field (EMF) sources operated in vicinity of human body, have possible adverse health effects. Therefore, the correct EMF assessment is necessary in their near field.

Radiofrequency exposure in the Neonatal Medium Care Unit

Environmental Research, 2017
The aims of this study were to characterize electromagnetic fields of radiofrequency (RF-EMF) levels generated in a Neonatal Medium Care Unit and to analyze RF-EMF levels inside unit's incubators. Spot and long-term measurements were made with a dosimeter. The spot measurement mean was 1.51±0.48V/m.

Occupational exposure to radiofrequency fields in antenna towers

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2006
Exposure of workers to radiofrequency fields was assessed in two medium-sized antenna towers. Towers had transmitting antennas from different networks, e.g. mobile phone networks, radio and digital TV sub-stations and amateur radio. The levels of radiofrequency fields were measured close to the ladders of the towers.

Evaluation of radiofrequency dielectric heaters workers exposure

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2007
Radiofrequency dielectric heaters (RFDH) are widely used in the woodworking industry for gluing laminates by applying pressure and RF heating. The workers operating such equipment remain in the vicinity of the machinery all day and can therefore be exposed to considerable levels of electric and magnetic field at RFs. This work describes the method used
