Mediastinal Fibrosis and Radiofrequency Radiation Exposure: Is there an Association?

Respiration, 2009
A 45-year-old officer, working for a period of 18 years at a military radar base, presented with progressive exertional dyspnea, dry cough, and hemoptysis. Subsequent evaluation demonstrated a left pulmonary artery occlusion as well as a left upper lobe bronchus stenosis, due to a dense fibrotic mediastinal mass.

A Suggested Limit for Population Exposure to Radiofrequency Radiation

Health Physics, 1983
Unlike a number of other nations, the U.S. does not currently have guidelines for the exposure of the public to radiofrequency (RF) radiation. In order to determine whether the current data base was sufficient to support an interim determination of a limit for population exposure to RF radiation (0.5 MHz-100 GHz), a critical and comprehensive review of

Exposure of Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Radiation on Biochemical and Pathological Alterations

Neurology India, 2020
In the era of globalization, too much dependency on mobile phones is a cause of concern. The present study was designed to evaluate the risk assessment of microwave radiation (MWR) at 1800 MHz frequency and specific absorption rate 0.433 (W/kg) on male Wistar rats.Animals were divided into two groups: the first group is the control group, and the second

Operator Exposure to Radiofrequency Fields Near a Hyperthermia Device

Health Physics, 1983
Radiofrequency-induced hyperthermia has recently gained acceptance in cancer therapy. One of a few commercially available systems is the Magnetrode, a device operating at 13.56 MHz with an output power up to 1000 W. Heating of the prescribed part of the patient's body is accomplished by one of the coil electrodes.

A RADIOFREQUENCY RADIATION EXPOSURE APPARATUS

1970
Abstract : A radiofrequency radiation exposure apparatus was developed and placed into operation at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine. The rectangular coaxial device has dimensions of 4 3/4 ft. by 9 1/4 ft. by 30 ft., with a 6-ft.- wide center conductor. It is powered by a 50-kwp. transmitter and operates in a pulsed mode at frequencies of 10.5, 19.

Epidemiological studies of human exposures to radiofrequency radiation

International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health, 1985
The health effects to exposure to radiofrequency radiation (RFR) remain undefined and controversial. Epidemiological studies of human exposures to RFR are confounded by difficulties in determining the type and true extent of exposures, in selecting an appropriate control group for comparisons, in determining the existence and influence of many ...

Statistical analysis of real radiofrequencies exposure in a realistic environment

2010 10th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium, 2010
In this paper, the general public daily exposure to radiofrequencies in indoor areas is investigated. The considered signals are FM, TV, and GSM over one day. The study focus on the determination of the distribution of FM, TV, and GSM signals in a realistic electromagnetic environment in Indoor distinguishing Urban and Rural locations.

Exposure Survey of Operators of Radiofrequency Dielectric Heaters in Australia

Health Physics, 1986
A survey of industrial radiofrequency (RF) dielectric heaters within Australia was carried out during 1982 and 1983. The heaters operated within the frequency range 11-50 MHz and had available RF powers between 0.5 and 70 kW. The electric and magnetic field strengths in the vicinity of the operators of 101 heaters were surveyed.

Setting Exposure Limits for Radiofrequency Radiation and Microwaves in China

Reviews on Environmental Health, 1994
This review presents Chinese ELVs for radiofrequency radiation and microwaves. The ELVs were based on thermal or on non-thermal effects.
